Roxette fans not only have a major Australian tour on the way in February, the bands biggest ever collection is about to be released at the 4CD box set 'The Roxbox'. 'The Roxbox' will include 78 tracks as well as a 40 page booklet. Warner Music will release The Roxbox on February 6. Roxette will begin their Australian tour in Brisbane on February 10 2015, including dates for A Day On The Green. Review: Great songs - Great item Review: Cool Collection spanning their entire catalog - When I discovered this collection, I decided to go with it as opposed to any of their other hits collections. Not only do you get all of the big hit singles, but other album cuts, demos, and even outtakes that didn't make an album. The first disc features tunes from their first three albums, Pearls of Passion, Look Sharp!, and Joyride, as well as the Pretty Woman tune It Must Have Been Love. Disc 2 starts off with more songs from Joyride, then Tourism and Crash! Boom! Bang!. Disc 3 has the four new tracks from their Don't Bore Us - Get to the Chorus hits collection, then songs from Have A Nice Day. Disc 4 starts with a few demos, then songs from Room Service, Charm School, and one song from Travelling, their last album released before this collection. The discs come in a very thick plastic case that also has a booklet full of info about the band, how they got started, their road to success, etc. with lots of pics. My favorite song of all time is Dangerous, but other songs on this collection I am currently playing on repeat are: Paint, Joyride, Fading Like A Flower, Perfect Day, Queen of Rain, and Stars. If all you know of Roxette is their hit songs from the late 80's and early 90's, this collection has those along with a good smattering of their other lesser known songs.

Great songs I knew and more great one I didn't know
I recently heard a few Roxette songs on YouTube and fell some nostalgia. I wanted to buy a CD and I wasn't sure which one. In the end I picked this one because it had every song I knew on it and a lot more music. I've actually listened to the whole four disc set back to back while working at home a few times now and discovered some songs that I really like that I didn't know existed. If you like the sound of Roxette, give this set a try.

Unexpectedly pretty good group
A petty extensive compilation of their music. Heard one of their songs at an event, and thought I'd see/hear what else they had. Was pleasantly surprised to find that this is/was a pretty decent group. Worth the price. You'll probably find some "Easter Eggs" like I did.

Expected more bonus material
I was a bit disappointed with this boxette. Per is a music fan and it shows in the way he reissues albums with extra material and even sets of obscure stuff like the Per Gessle Archives: its like he asks himself what he would want released if he were the fan, but the Rox Box falls short. At a very minimum I would expect all of the albums to be represented in their entirety, including Dance Passion, but a lot is missing and shouldn't. Beyond that I would expect bonuses like singles, rare remixes, special events like MTV Unplugged, and a little new material. While the set does contain a lot of fun material, when I compare against what is thrown on something as minor as an album reissue the contents here just seem small. Still, what you do get is a lot of great content so I can't call the product bad.

The Roxbox Mk 2, the update
Being the catalogue in full was switched over from EMI (which merged with Universal) to Parlophone/Warner/Rhino, and it's close to Roxette's 30th anniversary, it was time to do a reboot. New packaging, updated tracklisting, and new liner notes, some new photos. The original DVD was 2-sided and compressed so badly that it was unwatchable...the picture was reduced to a grid of squares. The new essay is good but left out some key details, like Dean Cushman's name. They could have fit a song more on each disc, so certain ones didn't need to be left out from the old tracklisting, like those rare demos. I'm happy it's up to date with that recent single remix of the B-side "The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye", and songs off of "Charm School" and too bad only one off "Travelling (Tourism 2)". The surprise was with "Reveal"...the original on the 1st Roxbox was just beautiful with that dominating oboe blending beautifully with Marie's voice...on this new Robox, the song is a pretty cool remix but replaces that oboe with beats and keyboards...I miss the oboe. A welcome update but save the old one if you wish...I hope Parlophone/Warner/Rhino releases a complete DVD/BluRay with an up-to-date video collection, the MTV Unplugged show, and those documentaries from the "Complete Videos and More" DVD...I wonder if the whole Rox catalogue will be further updated in the switch to Warner, as 2CD/DVD sets?? The remastering sounds great on this set. As well as Per's solo records, the Gyllene Tider catalogue, Marie's solo catalogue, the Lonely Boys project, etc?? Maybe Rhino will use their care and reissue expertise like they're doing with the Bee Gees catalogue?? Per is a pop genius and Marie is the greatest LIVING female singer today, aside from Rumer, so they need and deserve this care that EMI lacked in the 90s and 00s...just saying...

New edition of the glorious 2006 Roxette box set, now refreshed and updated. With extra songs from the "Charm school" and "Travelling" albums added on, and a slightly revised back catalogue, it has also gotten a mini face-lift, presented in a plastic fatbox case (as opposed to the sturdy casebound longbook of the original release), with new layout, featuring some new pictures and liner notes. With another best-of released back in March, Roxette are releasing so many greatest hits, it is almost hard to keep up. To be fair, recent 2-disc "XXX" compilation is a comprehensive hits collection perfect for casual buyers. The "Roxbox!" is an anthology of most of the band's best moments, thus, appeals both to new and hardcore fans. Per Gessle has explained about this release: "Some major Warner-markets wanted this box-compilation since we're touring a lot, so, we waved the green flag." The original 4CD+DVD "Roxbox!" remains the definitive Roxette box set. Τhis new 78-track 4-disc compact little box, though, is the ultimate Roxette purchase. And, since Warner has now made this available for shipping everywhere, and at a very reasonable price (costing as much as a regular double album), everyone is super happy. This 2015 repackaged version of the group's "extended greatest hits collection" is ideal for the casual buyer, as well as for those who missed it the first time around (as long as they do not mind the omission of the collectible DVD), an essential buy of the highest order, from the sunniest pop band that has ever graced the earth! Note: The songs from the 2006 version missing are: 1. The sweet hello, the sad goodbye (Original 1990 version) 2. Better off on her own 3. New world 4. Cooper 5. All I ever wanted Those are now replaced by: 1. She's got nothing on (But the radio) 2. No one makes it on her own 3. Speak to me 4. It's possible 5. The sweet hello, the sad goodbye (Bassflow radio edit)

I'm a true Roxette's fan since my teen years: and now that I'm 40, I still love them as much, and this perfect collection of Roxette's songs, all greatest hits I think, is the ONE to own if you're a true fan like me! Perfect sound, very nice package, and perfect service from Amazon!
