Good epoxy
Cures fast. Very hard.

Easy to work with
I used this product to fill in old transom holes. I prepared the holes by drilling them clean, applying expoy resin to the inside of cleaned hole allowing it to cure for 24hrs. Then I applied the Thixo thickened epoxy to fill the hole permanently. I also used Thixo to fill various old screw holes and chips in both wood and fiberglass. Before using the mix tips, squeeze the tube with your gun to ensure an even flow of material from both sides of the tube. Then put on your mix tips and use accordingly. Failure to follow instructions will result in uncured, soft sticky epoxy. Allow 24hrs for complete cure. Update: Using this product in high heat direct sunlight will cause the product to cure very fast within minutes, I recommend a cool 70-75 degree environment to allow for the time to dispense the product. I also recommend using a powered caulking gun to dispense for the quickest and consistent application of the product allowing for working time before is cures.

Interesting stuff, for the right application
I used this to fill spider cracks in gelcoat on my 40year old sailboat. I ground the cracks out with a Dremel tool and then ran a bead down each groove. It is a convenient way to fill the cracks, BUT… this stuff is straight epoxy with some secret ingredient; It stays where I put it and is harder than a rock and very difficult to sand down. If I did it over, I’d be sure to try to remove excess, right away or as it kicks. Or, I’d just refill with fairing compound or gelcoat paste. It’s a convenient product and I might use it for spot repairs or lamination in the future. It is a bit too expensive for large project use, especially since I’m working for myself and not passing along costs to any customer.

Fits the common EIGHT ounce caulking guns.
Excellent product. Keep in mind this contains FOUR ounces of product.

Bonds well, sets as stated...
Sets fast as stated and still cures in cooler temps, 50 degrees f.

Disappointing failure
I purchased this product on the recommendation of a popular woodworking YouTube channel. Product claims that it hardens within 2-3 hours. Six hours later, still wet. Very hard to squeeze the product out using the recommended caulking gun. I needed to put the handle in a vice to extract enough epoxy because I couldn’t squeeze the handle with my hands. Nice concept but poorly executed.

An incredibly handy and useful product that mixes the 2 element epoxy system in the nozzle
They have many variations of this handy epoxy system which by virtue of the mix nozzle can be accurately applied to the needed location like a caulking gun. Have been using this system for more than 10 years

Easy to apply thickened epoxy.
After removing a four foot piece of corroded aluminum trim, I discovered I needed to grind out some old fairing compound from the top of my transom and fill the void with a high strength alternative. Thixco was the perfect solution. I applied it in two layers, making sure it was pushed all the way into the joint. It held its shape without sagging. When it dried the area was rock solid, needing no sanding or grinding into shape. The dried epoxy will prevent any water intrusion into the transom. I capped it with a new piece of 90 degree anodized aluminum using screws and sealed with life caulk. It looks just like new.
