Soil pH and Moisture Meter

I guess this unit is OK but it's very slow requiring ten minutes per reading. One needs to dig down about two inches and then wet the soil and wait ten minutes to take a reading. If you have a lot to do the time ads up. I found I didn't use it.

I have been sreaching for a reliable meter to measure ground pH. This meter caught my attention. I have now used the meter a number of times and has been very reliable and accurate in its readings. I am pleased with the product.

The tester is well built and works fine! I had my blueberry soil tested by the Florida Extention and it tested 4.9. My tester tested 5.0. I don't see a problem.

My experience with this product is, that is does not work at all. As far as the moisture meter test, it gives the same reading if I place it in wet soil or dry soil . As far as the PH test, again it gives the same reading regardless of the soil. I have tried the meter in my garden, on my lawn, in a store bought bag of soil, and even in adjusted soil .......SAME READING. I contacted The Company that sells the meter, but that was a waste of time.. I do understand that it is very hard to have a meter test pH, but this product should not be sold if it does not do what it is intended to do. Nevertheless my tomatoes , peppers, squash and the rest thrive every year.

I have had other meters in the past and have not been satisfied. I bought the Control Wizard and I amtickled with performance. I have told all my gardening buddies.

I purchased this unit to help understand soil PH on my property. I used it on four different dates over the course of two years. I keep it safe, in its original packaging, stored in my home office. It was never dropped or abused. I was always careful in handling it. I keep it clean and dry.On my last attempt to use it, it failed to record any PH reading other than 7.0. Later lab tests indicated that the soils were very acidic.From my experience, product reliability is not good.

I bought this meter from a different vender 2 years ago due mainly to its' sturdy appearance. The problem appeared with my first soil test when it indicated a pH of 7. Knew it couldn't be right because I had never limed to area where I was testing. Double checked with litmus paper and determined the meter to be off by half the scale. My soil actually had a pH of 5.2. There is no adjustment or calibration possible on this meter. I let it lay around for a while and eventually threw it in the trash.
