Returned that one and decided to try this one. It arrived with all items needed to set it up. It had a USB 3.0 type A cord to connect to my computer, along with a Type A to Type C adapter (which I used). My computer immediately recognized that the drive was attached (WD 4TB) and I did not have to do anything to begin transferring files. When transferring files from this drive to another and from that drive back to this one (simultaneously) I averaged transfer rates in both directions around 40 MB/s. When just transferring from another drive to this one, I averaged transfer rates of 80-90 MB/s. I have been very pleased with this item and it's transfer rates. It was easy to set up and use on my Dell XPS with Windows 10. I would recommend giving this manufacturer a try if you are looking for one of the types of docking stations. Review: Simple, Works Perfectly, Exactly What I Needed - This is the perfect product for what I needed. I had several old HDDs from old computers that I wanted to consolidate and access their files. I have a MacBook Pro and these were old Windows drives. Plugged in, mounted the drives (one at a time) and there they were, perfectly accessible. The negative reviews that I read often referred to the space around the drive that allows for some mobility and instability. That is correct. It's not bad, but it does wiggle if you wiggle it. So, be careful. I would not use this as my primary back-up device for that reason. The power wire is not very long, so you will need a nearby plug or an extension cord to use it on your desk. All these were minor things since they did not affect the purpose for which I bought this. Overall, I was very pleased.

Works as advertised!
This review is for the USB 3.0 variant that is sold here on Amazon. This is a perfect way to re-purpose 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch SATA Hard Disk drives using an inexpensive enclosure. The construction of this SATA External Hard Drive enclosure is all plastic but still sturdy enough. There is a green LED in front, USB 3.0 B type connector at the back where the included USB 3.0 B type cable to USB A 3.0 cable goes into. In my humble opinion this is better than using USB 3.0 Micro-B Super-speed which is prone to loose connections. The included cable is thick but little short in length but suffices most installations. There is a AC to 12 vDC power brick provided. The enclosure needs this power brick to function. There is a power ON/OFF switch at the back which is very convenient feature to flip the switch before physically removing the HDD. There are no guides to align the HDD to the SATA port but since all HDDs have standard sizes the enclosure is cleverly built to accommodate hard disk drive insertions effortlessly , In the end, the mere weight of the 3.5 inch form factor hard disk drive seems to keep the HDD securely in place! The enclosure supports UASP for optimal performance; Backward compatible with USB 2.0 /1.1 and can accommodate almost all available SATA hard disk drives. The data transfers seems fast and no issues or complaints. Rating the product with four stars!

Did what I needed it to do.
This dock worked great for me. I just needed to rescue a few files off of an old HD after my computer crashed unexpectedly WHILE I was trying to back-up a few items that I wanted to have "just in case" copies of. I hopped on Amazon and bought this. I was able to get my files with no issues. I dug around my old HD and found some photos and things I wasn't sure I had copies of. After that successful venture, I grabbed an HD out of a long-fried, long-lost computer and pulled out some old school papers and other things that I had written off as lost years ago. It's been sitting on a shelf since then, so I can't speak to it's longevity, and hopefully, I'll never need it again anyway, but I'm definitely happy with its performance to this point.

It works every time, no hassle, as intended, without fail. Great product.
Picked up three of these to use as docking stations for Smart TV's for media drives. Have multiple 3.5 inch HDD drives with various multimedia content on them - now each of the Smart TV's (Samsung) in the house has one of these docks hooked up by USB. I just put whatever I want (my backed up music, etc) on the drive and pop it in the docking station hooked to whatever TV I want to watch it on. Flawless, thus far. No complaints. Quietly sits there until ready to use and works when needed. Have read four different drives now with no issue whatsoever. Recommend this product, highly, without reservation.

Works with 10TB to 14TB NAS/Enterprise drives unlike many other adapters who claim so but dont.
I'm a user of larger sized HGST NAS/Enterprise drives by Western Digital (10TB, 12TB & 14TB) and this model will operate them unlike 3 other more expensive models that claimed to do so but didn't. I'm not sure about other makes and models of NAS/Enterprise drives but apparently my HGST (made by Western Digital) require more power to run and my other three adapters couldn't get them to operate even though this model could and so could my tower and my Synology NAS server so there was nothing wrong with my brand new drives. Those other three adapters worked fine for my other drives which are sized from 500GB to 8TB but they couldn't operate anything over 8TB. Bottom line, don't waste your time and money on any other brand. If you run larger sized NAS or Enterprise drives, stick with this model.

For the price, not bad
Works great. The only downside is when the hd is in the cradle it doesn't feel secure. A drive I wasn't sure was still good wasn't being recognized by my computer, so I kept trying to fit it in the slot just right. I didn't like having to do that. Made me feel awkward, but once it's in, works perfect and fast with the USB 3.0 connection.

This worked well; the instructions were a waste of time but really not necessary anyway. Decently made and good value.

着脱がしやすく、すぐ認識する。放熱もよさそう。欠点は少しかさばる。使いだしたばかりなので耐久性は不明。壊れたパソコンを廃棄する前に、HDDを取り出し外付けメモリーとして使用。
