After studying ranges for a couple of years finally settled on GE Cafe and very happy
Pro's: everything on it works and works well. In this day and age with poor quality workmanship in most appliances I feel lucky just having all the features work without bringing in a repair man. Nice looking range with sturdy quality components.Con's: large high power burner front right which is normally where I like to have a smaller simmer burner for delicate cooking so that I can keep a close eye on the dish. The high power burner is seldom needed except for boiling stuff and stocks which I usually have on the back burner. This is a poor design, but I can live with it.Also, fan is noisy, my wife complains of this, but I just turn the TV a little louder.Overall it is a quality range with a couple of design flaws I was familiar with prior to purchase which have not created a negative experience while cooking.

It replaces a dual fuel GE range that I liked until I had to continually repair it
I have been using this for a couple weeks. It replaces a dual fuel GE range that I liked until I had to continually repair it. This new one is strictly gas fired. It uses only 20 amp 120v circuit for all else. It does make noise after shutting off the oven, but not that much. The thing that takes getting used to is that the convection fan only runs when the oven is up to temp and flame is out. On the other hand, the dual fuel model convection fan remains on whether or not the oven's electric element is on. The only time it is off is when the door is open. The difference is in the amount of actual convection fan the food gets, which is, in my opinion, a big difference. When I questioned GE about the functioning of the range, they were vague. I should have assumed the worst. BUT, it looks great and the updated gas orifices give greater gas flow. This is highly important especially with LP. Remember that LP gives far less energy than Natural Gas.

Good stove but fire danger...
We have been very happy with our Café. At the same time, I do live in fear of it. The 4 burners have been pushed farther to the sides to accommodate the 5th long burner in the middle. Since we have our counters flush up against it, there's a real risk of something on the counter catching on fire. It wouldn't take much because these burners run so hot especially top right one.

If only GE had customer support......
The cook top is just perfect. I have been suffering for a while with a glass top, and the superiority of gas is hard to describe. The different burner sizes give amazing control and I love it.The oven, however, is a problem. It won't get to temperature, and so the convection does not work.Apparently when it is on, there is also a slight gas leak. So slight, I had not noticed it. Left the house, came back in and was alarmed at the smell.Called GE, got a computer answering phone tree. They auto generated a service tech for a week later. WOW.My stove is now a very large paper weight until they come.LOUSY service. Went from being thrilled to terribly disappointed.I had used this range, in the dual fuel variety, in a rental unit a while back. That oven worked ok, but the fan noise was VERY obtrusive. This one is quieter, but still loud WHEN it works. Now if it just wasn't trying to kill me.....

I did read that the stove was hard to clean and just attributed it to bad cleaners. Wrong
Bought this range about 3 years ago after doing a lot of review reading. I did read that the stove was hard to clean and just attributed it to bad cleaners. Wrong! I have to wipe up specks and spills immediately or they stain the steel and nothing will take it off except copious rubbing with magic eraser. It seems that the final glaze or polishing was left off the top of my range (and others who have complained ) and I only found this out by rubbing the surfaces of store models and the comparing it to the surface texture of my range. The surface of my range is definitely more grainy than smooth, and probably accounts for the difficulty in cleaning. I like to cook and hate to have to baby the top of my stove. I also have an older model jenn-aire that is so easy to clean compared to this go model. GE, get your quality control in order and don't send out models that are not completely finished! Other than that, the range is okay for cooking and baking, wouldn't buy this again though.

in perfect condition and the delivery men waited while I unpacked ...
The oven was delivered timely - right in the window, in perfect condition and the delivery men waited while I unpacked and inspected the appliance. The GE Cafe appliance is amazing. The stainless is also on the top of the stove - which was a must for me. I have seen the ones that claimed they were stainless and then had the black surface on top - didn't want that and thankfully didn't get that! The appliance is a thing of beauty with big professional knobs and a definite elegance. The baking drawer is a huge bonus - love the griddle on top. I have always had a gas stove/oven and this exceeds my expectations!

Not the Quality I Expected
We have had this range since April and after some tweaking by the GE rep the oven is now working better. There are now scratches on the front stainless trim due to the burner grates rubbing against it quickly when lifting out (heavy). Not fun having scratches on a new appliance. The coating on the non-stick griddle for the middle burner started peeling off after the first use. GE sent us a replacement which I just received and the coating looks almost bare in spots -- very poor quality -- I will not use it. So if you buy this range, you'd want to think about how to utilize that oval elongated middle burner. I'd prefer it were a round one. We bought this range after returning a Viking D3 which did not work from the start and because they didn't have their own repair people, and because we hated paying $4k for something that was defective from the start, we got the GE instead. GE say they are the only manufacturer with their own service reps, which does appeal. If I were remodeling a kitchen again I would be sure to have a separate oven and cooktop. There are so many more options available. Free-standing ranges seem to be limited in choice.

Excellent stove
We are very pleased with our new stove and its ease of operation. The only negative so far is that when the oven temperature goes over 350 an exhaust fan starts up which is fairly noisy with a warble sound in it. The griddle which comes with the stove work very well and easy to switch out for the middle grate and easy to clean.
