can this be used for weed barrier in a large home vegetable garden

I would sure think so - we bought to put under gravel for a road track, and I think a side benefit is that nothing (weeds) will grow in the road area where we have the fabric.

The fabric is woven.  I have not seen any water stand on it.

Can you lay this fabric down and have a truck roll over it to drop the aggregate?

If you are needing this for  a road for large vehicles, including truck, there is a wider sheets of  WF200 which is a woven polyethylene material.12.5 feet wide.    Amazon carried a "Driveway Scrub that was 54 ft long x 12.5 ft wide. and weighed 17.95 lb.   In about 2009, I purchased it through Amazon but, I do not see it on Amazon at present.   It could be ordered directly from Mutual Industries in the past. It was Model or part #  200-125-54   UPC 764083200541  EAN  0764083200541.  I hope the info is helpful  i jotted it in my phone memos years ago and hope it is correct

The problem with the 6 ft wide material, is that it is not wide enough.  When used under pavers for a home driveway or patio with pavers, I was told to overlap the material by 2 feet and also to avoid using the 12-16 inches on the outward edges for support.   
   
With a 12.5 ft wide material covered with gravel edge to edge, your path that is usable is is bout 9 to 10 feet wide ( down the center ).   If you use the 6ft wide material with 2 ft of material in the center overlapped your material is then 8 ft wide.  Again the edges need to be avoided and your usable weight bearing path is reduced to  5 to 6 feet.  This is not acceptable.  You will waste your money and be frustrated when it fails.

“If cut, so the edges fray? Can it be used a path in the garden without any mulch etc on top? It would only be down during the growing season. ”

Accepted Answer

The edges do fray, but minimally.  We covered ours with bark mulch in our garden walk way, but also placed it on a border between a low rock wall with lithodora hanging over and a neighbor's yard that is mowed with a riding mower.  Works fine.  We are pleased with the product, though after a couple years it is pierced by a few very persistent weeds.  Our neighbors use it as a pathways in their large garden.
