So this panic button is awesome. However, it drains the life of the safe's battery extremely fast if you set it to one press open (there is a two press setting which drains slower). I have a Vaultek Slider with the external battery pack. If you plan on using this daily, DO NOT buy the external battery pack (save your money). Just plug the safe into an outlet. That is your best option to rely on it always being charged (obviously). The button itself is awesome and I trust it in an emergency situation to protect my family.

After carefully reading the instructions several times on how to pair with my safe and program my access mode (on-demand, with my safe constantly powered), it literally took less than ten seconds to set up. I am now testing the range in which my smart key can remotely open my safe and have been very surprised by the positive results. It is recommended that the smart key be no further than 5 to 8 feet away, but I was able to open my safe from over 20 feet away through two closed bedroom doors and a closet door with my go bag obstructing the safe. As I said in the headline, so far so good!

I used this with my Vaultek Slider series and its so satisfying to push the button and its easy. It comes with a sticky side that you can apply on most surfaces, but I still have yet to do that, and its a nice subtle item that most people mignt not even take a second glance at. I probably use this to open my safe more than the number pad or biometric scanner.

The peace of mind it brings having a quick panic button hidden close to the bed while my Vaultek Slider sits in the closet let’s me sleep at night. With this simple upgrade I am able to push this button and by the time I get up to the closet, my 4” XD 9 Mod 2 service model is illuminated, and waiting for me with a fully loaded 16 + 1 round magazine with a spare 16 round magazine to boot!

Read a lot of negative reviews about the smart key biometric but decided to chance it anyway. Have not had any issues with fingerprints or functionality. The only thing I wish they did was have an option to silence the beeping.

Heres the deal. Does it work? Yes. Is it easy to install? Yes. Does it make you feel like James Bond? Yes. The problem is if you dont have the ability to keep your safe plugged in, you can forget about this right now. It drains your battery in a week. Obviously I didn't want to recharge the safe every week, so I returned it. If someday in the future I install an outlet near the safe I will 100% buy it again. For now, its going back.

Awesome for a hidden panic or quick release button. I use it in my vehicle for discrete and quick reliable access rather than waiting for my fingerprint to recognize, punch in my code, or open the cover and insert my key. Just have to keep it well hidden as anyone can press it and gain access to your firearm.

Works great and when hidden gives quick easy access to your safe’s contents. Each safe only allows one button to be synced to it.Wish they sold or provided an additional mount so the button can be moved if the safe is moved to a different location
