I was hit by a truck 25 years ago.
I was hit by a truck when I was 17 years old. Among other injuries my right knee cap (patella) was crushed. I have only had 2/3 of knee cap and it reminds me everyday. I was on crutches for most of the 11th grade. I have been living with this pain for the last 25 years. Some days are worse then others, and those who are close to me know i don’t complain about the pain, but if I am then the pain is really bad. Every day, all day I have some sort of pain, lounging around makes it worse and a lot of times I have grab my leg and straighten it out because I can’t move my leg. I am telling you all this story so you know that the pain I have isn’t just “I’m getting old pain” although i am getting old and the pain is getting worse as I get older, I started looking for relief. First, I HATE pills and I refuse to take them and if i can I’ll avoid them. Maybe once a year the pains just so bad that I have to take something. I started looking into things that might help. I’ve done some research on the Copper Fit brace the technology makes sense but I was still skeptical but I got it and been wearing it for about 2 weeks now. I wore it the first day and My knee didn’t bother me, but I wasn’t ready to say it works. Wasn’t sure if it didn’t hurt or if something else hurt more and I just didn’t notice it. Like I said this is an everyday thing so it’s nothing for it to hurt and it’s just another normal part of my life. Over the a week or two I tried wearing it off and on to test it. I’m here to tell you that the days I wore it I didn’t have pain and the days I didn’t I had pain. Then yesterday happened and that was the deal sealer, nobody can deny when it gets cold joints start hurting. I wore the brace all day yesterday, when this cold front moved in I felt pain in hands and my left knee (which was injured when I was 14). There was absolutely NO PAIN in my right knee and I am completely sold on this product. If you are in pain and you are a skeptic like me, I’m telling you it’s worth trying it out. Yesterday was a big deal, having pain everyday of my life for almost half of my life, then to not have pain was amazing to me. I have to say it’s the best $15 I’ve ever spent. Only problem I had with it was getting it to stay in place. I am a guy who has a lot of hair and it seemed to fall down repeatedly. Because I am dedicated to finding relief and it wasn’t fair to just throw it to the side because it won’t stay in place, I shaved my leg where the brace will sit. Problem solved and it stays in place and I am SO GLAD I did that and gave this product a fighting chance. 😂 kids make fun of me for shaving my leg, and even more because I only shaved where the brace lays. Yes it looks funny especially because I have a lot of hair so it stands out like a sore thumb, but I’m not in pain so laugh all you want 😂.

A good brace but not sure about the copper compression.
So I purchased this item for my right knee due to pain I suffered when I was playing softball. I jammed my knee into the base while sliding and it hurt. After a few days of ice and anti inflamatories, I went to see the doctor and had some imaging done and was told i have some arthritis in the joint. Doc told me to get some therapy and a brace and see how that helps. I received this brace last week and it does a great job supporting the knee while I am wearing it and the pain does decrease but it is still there. This does not appear to be a curative feature for me and I really am not expecting it to do that. It is offering support and it is lessening my pain so that's the good part. I am giving this item a 4 because I am not sure if this item can only help me with the pain and support or would other braces to the same thing. Either way I have worn this for a week now. There is no copper smell from it. The Item itself does not have any body odor to it. But I am perplexed in the "copper tape" that one so prominently sees around the top and bottom of the knee. It feels like a tape, and I do not notice any other copper in the knee brace. The compression brace is a bit thicker then a nylon and has some stretch to it, so I am not sure how or where this copper is. I have yet to wash this brace but when i do it will be hand washed and hung to dry.

Love it, works great, till the supportive strips start delaminating
Love it, works great, till the supportive strips start delaminating, then it's just a sleeve to keep your knee warm. I've had 4, two for each knee and all but one have already delaminated.

This is the best purchase I've made in 5 years!
I'm an orthopedic mess. Played football and lacrosse in high school and college. Went to West Point and became an Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer. I just (2015) had both hips replaced; shattered an ankle in a parachute jump many years ago and that repair is starting to fail, and my knees are a mess from simple wear and tear. I'm 65 years old and starting to get arthritis in all of my joints, also. My left knee was really becoming THE principle source of pain, which is saying something. I looked for a support, not knowing which of them, if any, weren't snake oil. I selected the Copper Fit knee brace based on Amazon reviews. I put it on and immediately felt no pain when I walked - there are little support bands in the brace that hold the patella (knee cap) in place. This has made all the difference for me. I have no pain while walking - I don't "work out" per se, as I have all these other things going on, but this sure stops the pain and lets me walk distances without discomfort. I'm going to purchase another one now so I have one available when my current one is in the wash. Oh, and it's comfortable! (probably a little too constrictive to wear while sleeping, in my opinion)

no elasticity and thigh end too tight
Totally not what I expected. I did receive legit brand knee sleeves, but the material really doesn't have any elastic in material at all. More like nylon material. The XXL I received didn't even have the gold bands; they were black instead. The top cuts into fat of thigh too tightly and there's barely any compression on the knee itself where I need it. Returning these knee sleeves. My knee is still off & on unstable from hyperextending it two years ago, besides the falls it had taken in the past. GelOne injection for loss of cartilage has only helped somewhat. The Copper Compression brand sleeves I received today for my elbow and calves are totally what I expected...great elasticity but not too tight on either end...and within minutes could feel my legs warming up, even radiating into my feet (I've had three rounds of saphenenous & varicose vein closures done over the last 2.5 years)...as well as immediately starting to warm my arm where my cubital & radial tunnel syndrome pain started to be a constant pain over a week ago while still having work to finish the last parts in my flower beds & garden bed...my EMG has been postponed 3 times. Definitely hoping that other brand's full leg compression sleeve will help my knee & stay up, since they don't seem to make a knee sleeve.

I was wrong
UPDATE: Most men will seldom admit when they are wrong, but I am not in that category. I ordered a similar compression sleeve from a different source following the same directions for measuring my leg. When it arrived, same problem: I could not get it above my knee. So now I am confused. Measure the knee and it still comes out to 17.5 inches. So then I got a flash. I had been measuring sitting down. Would there be a difference standing up? You bet there was. Standing up it measured a little over 19 inches. (Can anyone explain why it is different?) So now I have ordered the XL and will update again when it arrives. BTW my son loves it and I have upgraded it to 5 stars. ***** I was having problems with my knee and figured I could use a compression sleeve. I ordered this one off Amazon. I used my wife’s flexible sewing tape measure and my thigh measured out at 17.5 inches. The photo of the different sizes said 17-19 inches was a large, so that’s what I ordered. While waiting for it to be delivered, I decided to wear my wife’s Tommie Copper compression sleeve. Hers is a large and fit perfectly. When mine arrived, I discovered that I could not pull it up past my knee. I checked the package and it was supposed to fit 17-19 inches, so something is wrong somewhere. Had the wife measure the thigh this time and she got 17.5 inches. And yes we are doing it at the prescribed 5 inches above the knee. I started the return process. The sleeve was lying on the table when my son came over. He saw it and asked if I was using it. I told him no it was too small and I was sending it back. He’s in college to be a physical therapist and a part-time jujitsu instructor. He asked if he could have it. I told him if it fits he can have it. He’s a skinny athletic young man that normally wears a medium. It fit him perfectly. I cancelled the return to Amazon. I was going to order me an XL but saw there was (at that time) an almost $10 price difference. (It’s a little less at the time of this review. Amazon has a habit of adjusting prices.) I’ll just wear the wife’s sleeve for a while. It appeared to be well construction and would probably do the job in the right size. It looks a lot better than some others I have seen. If it had fit I am sure I would have been happy with it. I don't know if their sizing is off or they put the wrong size in the packaging. Either way it kept them from getting a five star review.
