Great jacket
I previously owned a Columbia jacket and decided to give this one a try and I'm glad I did. This jacket feels well made, looks great and has been great for the outdoor use. The medium fits me perfectly - great fit without being too tight or too loose (5'8" 175 lbs). It's stylish, comfortable and I really like the Velcro on the sleeves - make a difference in keeping the element out. It's definitely not a winter jacket but perfect for fall and spring especially in cooler weather. The fleece lining adds just the right amount of warmth without making it bulky. While it's not a fully waterproof like a rain jacket, it does a good job repelling rain and keeping me comfortable. Overall, it's a solid choice for transitional seasons and I'm really happy with the quality and fit.

Engineered and out of the package fantastic
Long sleeves. Multitudinous pockets in and out. Warm. Soft and supple. Quiet. Highly wind and water resistant. Hood is easily adjusted and will go over Giro road biking ventilated helmet and myriad hats. Sleeves adjust at the cuffs. Looks to be seamlessly (lol) well made. Nothing misaligned, no loose threading and tight, even nylon stitching. Will it perform with competitors such as Mammut, Marmot, REI Co-op and others in terms of durability? In a word: No.But it needn't. Most clothing wouldn't. And the above mentioned clothing is more restrictive, less flexible and noisier for its durability in most cases. This item will withstand the urban jungle for decades if it is not your habit to get violently mugged weekly or fall off your skateboard frequently. Not to mention its EXCEEDINGLY reasonable cost for such quality and thought put into a product.

Nice looking, functional, versatile, affordable
This is a good jacket, you just have to take it for what it is. First, it's not waterproof, it's water resistant. It will get kind of wet in heavy rain. I've never had water soak through it, but the jacket itself got pretty soaked. However, it dries out fairly quickly. Also, the fleece lining is nice, but the jacket is not all that warm. This is a good reason to order up one size: If it's under 50F or so or windy, you'll want to wear more layers underneath. That said, it's a good lightweight/mid-weight jacket. It's well-made and functional but stylish, with a lot of pockets of various sizes. The biggest design flaw is the hood -- it's HUGE. It's really much too large. Maybe you have to have a longer neck or something, but it engulfs my head and covers my eyes, and I can't see anything. There is a cinch cord around the outside of it, but it looks silly to cinch it around your face and have an empty fabric pouch sitting on your head. It would be nice if there were a velcro tab on the back to adjust the hood size -- I've added my own, which helps. If you're wearing a hat or hoodie under it, that can help keep it off your forehead and out of your eyes.My other complaints are minor and might not bother other people. If I'm wearing a flannel shirt (which is often), the fleece lining inside the sleeves will grab onto the flannel and make the jacket difficult to take off. The hand pockets are also fleece lined, which should be nice, but... it's a thinner microfiber material that feels kind of cheap and flimsy, and I don't really like putting my hands in there because the fabric snags on the tiniest rough edge, which is really annoying if you have dry skin or hangnails.Overall, a nice, affordable, functional jacket with a few flaws.

Perfect Balance of Quality, Features, and Value
I’m thoroughly impressed with the Outdoor Ventures Men's Lightweight Softshell Jacket. It offers more features at a better price than the name-brand jacket I owned before. The inside pockets are convenient, the hood is adjustable with drawcords and even has a removable zipper and Velcro to keep it secure. The inner fleece lining is perfect for chilly fall and winter days, and the Velcro wrist cuffs are great for adjusting the fit. The materials feel durable, and the jacket is true to size—I’m 5'7", 173 lbs, and the medium fits perfectly with enough room for a shirt or light sweater. Plus, it looks trendy!Rating: 5/5Highly recommended!

My husband loves this jacket! The fit is great and it keeps him warm at night in winter when he goes out to take pictures of stars ! It’s light weight too. The price was really good too and we can always count on quick delivery from Amazon!

Great for Aug/Sept in Scotland
Bought for my hubby for our 3 week trip to Scotland from last week of August and into September. We had ample rain (sometimes cold and pelting) and wind. He stayed warm and dry with one to two layers under jacket in 50-63 degree weather. It’s damp and raw in Scotland with high humidity, so it’s cooler weather than it sounds. The large swallowed him and sent back with no issues. Medium fits great. He is 5’10 and 165 lbs. Will be great for camping too. Great go-to jacket with lots of pockets inside and out. Highly recommend. Ordered in gray. Paired with some waterproof snowboard pants from Amazon - stayed dry and wind-proofed! Great value!

Nice spring jacket
Nice looking jacket for spring climate. This is a rhin material jacket. Not a thick winter jacket.
