Q: can I connect both red cables together? I only have 3 cables on the other end...

The red wires should be connected to two different circuits. One red wire goes to the relay controlling your zombie lights, while the other red wire goes to the circuit illuminating your dashboard switches. Look at the photos above (the diagram) to figure out which red wire goes to which circuit.

One or the red wires is for power and the other is for lighting the toggle switch. So there for the toggle would be lite at all times with car in off position
