They got very soft after the first wash. They seemed to help the cases stay on the pillows that usually fall off by morning, so thats a plus. Will be ordering more. I am allergic to cats so these are SUCH a life saver at my boyfriends house. I dont get my nightly stuffy nose anymore and most nights i can breathe through my nose with these bad boys! They would make a perfect give for my mother.

Bought to reduce allergens and potential dust mites. The zippered cases are very stiff and almost paper like texture out of the package. Instructions indicated to wash before using. Did that and the texture was much improved, more like a heavy weight fabric. The weave or thread count seems very high so I hope it works. I’ll be throwing out the old pillow protectors.

I've had these in use now for 2.5 months and I wanted to write to say there is no rustle or noise from the material - this was something I worried about after reading some of the reviews, I couldn't imagine sleeping well on something that made noise or was like paper. Since you do not sleep directly on them - you cover them with your normal pillow cover, the only rustle you would hear would be normal to whatever material your pillow cover is made of. Purchase without fear :)

I was worried the covers would have a plastic smell or be too hot. But not the case at all! I washed them and put them on new pillows. They are soft and very pliable. They are very comfortable. Gives me peace of mind to know these are helping keep my pillow and bed clean. I recommend them.

I can reiterate what many reviewers have said about these pillow covers-- they feel like thick stiff paper when you open them. But once you wash and dry them (as directed before using) they become much softer and flexible. They are made of a synthetic patented fabric called "Evolon" by the manufacturer. We have not noticed the covers causing us to feel overheated while sleeping at all. The zippers seem high quality and construction looks and feels solid. I will say if your pillows are really fat, you might have some trouble getting them into the cases. I do believe they are meant to fit snugly.

I wanted to like these. But there was a horrible perfume chemical smell, like what you smell in the detergent isle at Walmart. If you are chemically sensitive, this may not be a good option for you.

I bought a combo of this evolon cover and the sleep safe bed bug covers. The evolon cover is better because the zipper is at the end seam of the pillow and, most importantly, it does not pull the air out of down pillows. The sleep safe covers do not let air through, thus down pillows essentially crush down and loose all loft / comfort. Just bought more of the evolon covers to replace the ones I bought from the other brand.
