A Monster
If you have a tippy desk top stand, then get this one. The base is very heavy, it is counter balanced perfectly and adjusts quickly and easily, without wimpy parts. I have a very big CAD e300-2 mounted to mine, and if you know the e300, it's a big mic. No worries about it falling. Also have a shock mount and pop screen mounted, resting easy that no disasters, even an non aggressive bump, are going to cause any mic I put on it to go "timber"!

Easy to use, well weighted base
I use these for mic'ing myself when I'm sitting down near a table, usually for recording my music at home in the spare room. The mic stand has a heavy base, which makes it quite stable even with a relatively heavy condenser microphone mounted on it. The base is small enough to fit on a wooden TV tray or small wooden barstool when I don't have a table handy. I've been able to mount a windscreen (to protect the condenser mic from my breath) on this microphone stand without trouble. This stand works well, and I have no complaints. It would be even better if it came with either a telescoping upper boom, or a selection of two booms of two different lengths.Keep in mind that you'll probably want to get a microphone clip with a joint that lets you adjust the microphone angle to use with this stand. Otherwise you have limited possibilities for positioning and angling the microphone.

This thing is nice, heavy
This thing is nice, heavy, and perfect for in home studio, internet radio, or podcasting. I love it. So much better than I even expected. It is paired with a nice heavy MXL990 and a 6"diameter pop filter. All fits well

NOT a quality product
I should have trusted the other reviews, but I figured that people were just being too picky - it is only a $30 stand, after all. I was wrong. This stand is barely worth $5. It appears to be height-adjustable, but there is no way to lock it into the desired height (only the boom angle), meaning that the smallest bump will screw it up. Even if you let it rest at the lowest height, there is still a lot of give in all the other joints. I will be returning this stand. One other point: if you plan on using your stand with a Shure SM7b, or a microphone with a similar bracket-system, you need to buy a stand where the threads on the stand point either up (simple stand without boom arm) or down (overhead boom), but not straight at you, like this stand. Otherwise you will have to tilt the arm to an extreme and awkward angle just to get the mic pointed at your face. Hope this helps!

Adequate for light to medium use. Great for podcasting. Good value.
The media could not be loaded. This is a perfectly adequate Boom Mic Stand suitable for use on a desk or for drum/amp mic'ing. I would not characterize it as "heavy duty" but for light to moderate use, it should be sufficient. The base weight is roughly 6 pounds providing pretty good stability. The base also has felt pads on the four corners to protect the surface of whatever you place it on. The boom has about 9" of travel and the boom height starts at 7" and can be adjusted up another 6" giving a total height of about 13". The ProLine MS112BK is a good value but probably not the best choice for rough usage.

I use this boom mic for my MC announcements at events. The base is heavy to prevent from tipping over. Adjustable length and height is adequate. I set it up on the table near my DJ equipment. Big help for hands free announcements. Just what I needed.
