eSIM not working from 1 of 3 Sellers! Otherwise still best Samsung Flagship with SD Card
I ordered over the past year 3 Phones from this exact same listing (same Color Bronze). The Problem is, that they are sold by independant refurbisher they all claim to be "SM-N986U1" = Factory unlocked Phones US Market. The first one I ordered in June2023 for my Cousin that was travelling and her Note9 broke down. The Phone was sold by "ELECTRONIC DEALS" . Wonderful Phone all is working great. As it was such a wonderful experience I thought I order one for myseld as a Backup in case my original European Note 20 Ultra would break down one day... This came 2 weeks later sold by "WirelessGlobe" again absoluetly amazing Condition and all worked. But when I ordered one this December 2023 again, the phone was sold by "HUMAN TECH". Again looked in perfect excellent condition. BUT I was unable to add an eSIM, regular SIM was no problem (So there was no SIM Lock!). As it turns out after contacting Samsung US - Support and them asking for the IMEI number, the Phone was actually built as a AT&T variant (SM-N986U and not U1) and was SIM-Locked once but now unlocked. Unfortuantely deep down in the system somehow eSIM was still locked and there is nothing that they can do about that, although the Phone About Screen has clearly mentioned the SM-N986U1, it was unusable with a eSim. So be careful when you even get a beatiful phone, and today you don't need eSIM maybe in the future you are travelling and then you find out you can't add eSIM... so test within the Return Window from Amazon if eSIM is working!!! In my case whn scanning QR Code of E-Sim it would just loop back to intital screen in SIM Manger. After upgrading to last Firmware, when clicking add eSIM I would only get the 4 Dots circling forever and nothing would happen. So beware of Sellers probably masking a SM-N986U unlocked AT&T Version as a Factory unlocked U1... Unfortunately NOT THE SAME!!! Attched picture1 shows in the older firmware the Scan eSIM is coming up, but will loop back to attached picture 2. After Firmware Upgrade it loops from the beginning. And in case you're asking if manually add the String, same thing loops back to picture 2.

Phone was not as described or advertised, total disappointment.
Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this Amazon seller. The phone was not unlocked as the seller claimed in the description. Also the phone was not a refurbished phone. Upon booting the phone it was not fully charged, where it already had an account on the phone. The seller claimed the phone was unlocked, however, the phone booted with t-mobile software and was not factory reset. This prompted me to reach out to Samsung to confirm if the phone was unlocked or not where I was told by the rep after providing the IMEI information that the phone is locked to T-mobile carrier. I next contacted t-mobile and the rep stated that the phone is not eligible to be unlocked, which rendered the phone unusable. This ordeal has been a huge inconvenience due to the fact I spent money on the phone with guarantee it would be unlocked and working. The seller had responsibility to ensure the phone was wiped of all previous user data, as well as ensuring the phone was not restricted to any carrier. If so, I would not be writing my review to warn others. I should not have had to go through so many hoops to confirm the validity of the phone when the phone should have been in the 'unlocked condition' as described on Amazon. I am recommending that AMAZON put in place a system that requires the SELLER to verify that the phone is unlocked by loading IMEI info before we as the CUSTOMER complete the purchase to prevent this from reoccurring. I have reached out to the seller to resolve this issue and have sent the phone back to receive a full refund. This experience has made me question Amazon's standards in regards to electronics where I do not have confidence or faith in purchasing any phone that is claimed to be unlocked from its Amazon sellers. Not until Amazon can guarantee that sellers will be true to their listings. In addition, the seller should be more mindful and considerate of the phones they are selling to people as we are spending real money and trusting that they will send us a phone that works and is truly unlocked with no restrictions as described. Please be aware of the risks you are taking when purchasing a "refurbished" or "renewed" phone from Amazon as you may not recieve the item as it is described on Amazon.

Samsung Reliability Reconditioned, Really Nice at a Bargain Price
I just upgraded to my 2nd Amazon renewed phone. I replaced my 7 year old phone with another Samsung Galaxy Note phone and it seems that it will be another good ride. I went for this Galaxy Note 20 Ultra because it was the last year for a memory card, 12 gigs of ram over my 6 gig Note 9 and another year when the cameras were improved. My seller had upgraded the operating system to Android 13 from Android 10. It arrived quickly and perfectly with a fast charge chord, a blue tooth programmed S pen and a screen protector was already applied. My Note 9 was still goodt for being 2018 and I expect this one will be just as good. This one is listed as a gaming phone and perhaps that is why it was hard to get one. No glitches with this phone and what a shock going from 4g and 6 gigs to this powerful 12 gig phone. The fingerprint was easy to program and Android 13 has many different bells and whistles over the earlier phone. I have always used my S pen and they don't always get checked when refurbished so I appreciate this seller. The power is such that the phone really did not heat up while the other phone was transferred over. The camera is not the latest but it is a big upgrade in picture quality from my earlier phone and with a card, i have lots of room for pix. I did get a sturdy case cover as that let my other phone survive many falls and bounces. There is a reason people still like and buy these elderly phones. Their designs still work, they had extras for their time and they are a good bargain. I thank Amazon and the seller "Chubby" for several more years.

Phone came in as advertised and it works well
I expected to see some scuffs on the phone, but the one I received was very minimal for a used phone. I usually use a phone case so it's not visible. The screen has absolutely no scratches. It's the S pen that definitely seen better days. The S pen also looks like a replacement, it's not the original one that came with the phone (the pen received is white, even though the phone I ordered is mystic bronze). The pen is still functional, so that's what matters to me. However, the S pen air action command does not work on the phone. When I tried to enable the air action command, it says that the S pen is disconnected when it actually is inserted. So the ability to take photos using the S pen does not work. However, in terms of frequency, I honestly do not use the S pen to take photos anyway, so it is not a miss for me. Even the fact that it is not the original S pen is minor to me. It does mention when making a purchase, that Amazon marketplace will get the phone to work up to a standard, but that we should expect that some items may not be the original. And I completely understand. I can't rate the phone for face recognition or fingerprint reader yet, as I just received the phone yesterday, and I did not test those features yet. I also haven't inserted an sd card yet to see if I can expand the storage on the device. The camera, audio quality when playing music using Spotify, bluetooth connection to my car or portable speaker, work wonderfully. I did expedite the phone and I received it in a week which is what I do expect for my area. What was included in the package was as advertised because I did get the charger and cable, but it is missing the sim card removal tool even though it said it would be included. Overall, you get what you pay for, and the phone to me looks great. The functions I mainly use do work. I am satisfied with the purchase, and I would shop here again.

So far so good!
So far this phone is working perfectly, knock on wood, I was previously using a Motorola 5G stylus that was not even a year old and that phone was a giant waste of money and it even bigger piece of crap. This phone blows it out of the water! With my previous phone, you could not even multitask something as simple as sending a text message while watching a YouTube video! This one I have absolutely no problem doing both things. It's quick and responsive, actually has a large capacity of storage on the phone- my previous phone claimed to have large storage but actually sent an SD card which made it even slower. This phone is phenomenal if you are somebody that likes to multitask with different applications, the cameras are amazing and the filters work beautifully. The Stylist is also very responsive and accurate. Overall it is a far superior phone and I will never get anything other than a Samsung phone again! Should also mention that it was very simple to set up and transfer my data from my old phone to my new phone, depending on how much you have it may take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour- I had a lot of photos and videos save that I wanted to transfer, but you can also opt out of that as well which is nice. Fingerprint reader works well, I would recommend if you are getting a screen protector to make sure that it has a special spot for the fingerprint sensor as that may make it more difficult for you to get into your phone. Video quality is beautiful and the sound quality is crystal clear. I also am a big fan of the Google voice type that you can equip on this phone, it's very accurate and rarely misspelled what I'm saying. Phone calls also come in very clear and I've had no issues with calls being dropped. Should also note that the keyboard comes up instantly, that was not the case with my previous phone LOL. The price of this phone is extremely Fair, even though it's a older phone by today's standards it operates beautifully and has so far been able to accomplish everything that I need it to. One last thing I should mention, I am a avid gamer and playing games on this phone has been an absolute Joy. I'm even able to hook up my Bluetooth controller or my Razer kishy controller to play games on this!

Great Phone do NOT activate with an ESIM, at least on Verizon.
Purchased this back in 2023 but just switched to it on my Verizon plan this week. WORDS OF CAUTION.. do not try to get this phone activated by Verizon using an ESIM. Go to a Verizon store and get a SIM card. ESIM was a nightmare to activate and then after 3 days it lost the network and could not reconnect. Old phone was already disconnected so had no phone. Went to a Verizon store and the salesperson could not get it to connect with a physical sim card. He tried to up sell me a new phone, either he was dishonest or did not know how to switch from ESIM to card. I was not ready to give up so I took the phone home and looking through the settings noticed he did not delete the ESIM, just turned it off. I deleted it and reset the Network settings. Went back to the store and had a new rep insert a SIM card and activate the phone and it is now working. Really like the phone in all other ways and especially that it takes an SD card. Hard to find new phones with expandable memory. Phone is great, three stars because the ESIM functionality is useless.
