Great Squirrel Call
Look, I love squirrels. I think they're adorable little fluffballs with bushy tails and a healthy disregard for gravity. But sometimes, a guy gotta eat (and that guy sometimes includes me). That's where Haydel's Mr. Squirrel Whistle comes in, my secret weapon for turning those tree-hugging rascals into potential protein patties. This ain't your grandma's rusty hinge. This acrylic gem lets out the most realistic baby squirrel distress call you've ever heard. Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if PETA showed up at my door thinking I was torturing a whole nursery. But hey, the squirrels come running (or scurrying, I guess?).Here's why I'm totally obsessed:Sound effects by Mother Nature: Forget those squeaky toys that sound like a dying rubber duck. This whistle nails the panicky cries of a lost baby squirrel. Squirrels practically materialize out of thin air to check it out.Easier than tying a cherry stem in your knot: Seriously, just blow into it. Five perfect "help me, mommy!" notes later, you're in squirrel-calling business. No fancy fingerwork needed.Pocket-sized symphony: This lightweight whistle hangs out on my neck like a furry (well, not yet) fashion statement. No more lugging around bulky calls that make me look like a walking wind chime store. Results, baby, results: Let's be honest, the only thing better than squirrel calls is squirrels in the pot (metaphorically speaking, of course). This whistle's practically like a squirrel magnet. I've seen them freeze, twitch their tails in confusion, and even come right up to me like I'm holding a buffet of acorns. Now, a couple of things to keep in mind:Mastering the squeak takes practice: You won't sound like Pavarotti overnight. Embrace the kazoo phase, it's all part of the journey.Squirrels ain't always suckers: Some old-timers have seen it all and won't come running like lemmings. But hey, that's the thrill of the hunt, right?Be nice to the fluffballs: Respect the quarry, y'all. We're not out there playing whack-a-squirrel. Use this call responsibly and ethically.Bottom line? Haydel's Mr. Squirrel Whistle is a game-changer for any casual hunter who wants to add a little extra excitement (and protein) to their next outing. Just be prepared for the symphony of squeaks to echo through the trees and maybe invest in some good earplugs for your squirrel buddies. Happy hunting! It also doubles as a way to call my squirrel dog!

It works!
Light weight, works well for calling out ground squirrels.

Good call
The distress whistle isn’t as easy to identify what side to use. The hand call is good but the rubber dries out fast so keep it hydrated.

This thing does absolute bring the squirrels out
As long as you don't just endlessly blow on this like a Mow-RON this will bring the bushytail tree rats out of their nests and will tantalize their curiosity. they don't just instantly run in to the noise, but they do in fact instantly start looking and slowly work in to the source. You need to research and observe the noises of an actual young squirrel in distress and match the call. Have taken out more squirrels since i've gotten this call than in the year prior.

Need more time. So far not impressed.
I purchased this call because everything I saw on it said it would bring them out late season which is difficult to do. Well it was still difficult. I used it on 3 different trips and was not able to call any squirrels out with it. I followed the instructions from the manufacturers video instructions to the letter and just didn’t have any luck with it. Is it BS? In dint know. Maybe? I’ll try it again next season and see if it works. While using it this season I never saw one squirrel. I have it a 3 star rating which is generous considering It didnt work at all. Til next season!

Below average
This whistle is average at best. Sounds more like an actual whistle then a squirrel distress call. Not very useful is used in a more highly pressured game area.
