Does the job!
The reason I chose the Netgear VZMS2050 outdoor shell is I wanted to be able to use my VueZone Motion Camera outside. I wanted to be able to have some security outside, whether human or animal. Yes! We live in the country. Since I was familiar with the Netgear VueZone Motion Detection Camera, setting that up was a piece of cake. The shell was basically easy but you had to open it with the enclosed Allen Wrench, place the camera inside and determine where to locate it. Use the screws provided and secure to your home or a tree. After thought, predrill the holes first, it makes it easier for the screws to go in. If there is anything I would recommend is to put a thumb screw to secure the case. Trying to find the Allen Wrench, when you need to change the batteries, could be a problem. I have way too many safe places. The manufacture should look into providing better quality screws. Soft screws tend to strip easier. All in all, it took me approximately 15 minutes and that included getting up on the ladder. I've had experience with the Netgear/VueZone products, someone else may take a little longer. Great product and okay price but you get more then what you pay for, SECURITY! I have definately recommended this product to my family and friends.

Good product for what you get.
I love this product. It's super easy to install. Easy to use once installed and give me what I need which is basically an ability to monitor my home from anywhere at anytime. Pretty cool. The only things I would want in the future is a higher res camera and longer battery operating life.

Solid Construction...Performs as Advertised
Vuezone shell is well made. Solid plastic construction on the shell itself as well as the metal mount. Swivel moves in just about every direction for easy aiming of the Vuezone camera. I use this shell in two places: under an outside eave (with no direct exposure to the elements) and mounted to a tree (with exposure to sun and rain). They have performed well, with no leaks. No complaints about this shell whatsoever.

The probuct works good but seems spendy for no more than it is.
I have 7 of these and so far they seem to be doing the job of keeping the cameras dry. They are however, in my opinion, over priced for no more than they are. I did get one that there were no threads in on the little silver tighting nob, I just bottomed it out.

A good, basic home camera system
I wanted a camera system for my condo that would provide basic camera protection, in addition to an alarm. These little cameras fit the bill exactly- easy to setup & install, most of the configuration is online. You just pair them with the base station and stick 'em to he wall. You log on to Netgear's service to view 'em from anywhere. Computer or smartphone. Pretty neat. The picture can be a little grainy from a distance (15'), so mount them near where you want them to be monitoring. the "Night Vision Camera" ( a 2 piece setup, a IR lamp and a separate camera) work especially well- you can place the lamp up near where it is needed, and have the camera back a ways. I'm going to install 2 exterior cameras in the optional shells and I cannot say how well that will go until I do it, but so far, I'm impressed. PROS: Inexpensive Easy to configure Easy to view Surprisingly good color image when properly located No DVR to futz with You can view data saved from Netgear's website (easy playback, too) You can configure "alarms" when a camera senses aciviy CONS: Do not expect 1080p dynamic pictures Kind of an odd thing for guests to see hanging from an entryway corner

Price Gauging at its Finest
The clear plastic cases I bought work fine and mount easy. My only complaint is that vendors jacked the price to more than double whet I paid when the mounting cases were ready available. Something's wrong when the mounting case costs more than the cameras.

***Very nice product for the common man***
I have 12 of these cameras and its a hugeeee peace of mind. I check them often while at work and they very easy to install. The stand is also very sturdy and will last through all the elements. You will have to use zip ties to use it in certain areas like trees etc but it works. I would not rely on the screws it comes with they are not that sturdy to hold on to a tree branch or wood. Just use zip ties. Regardless its a very nice product for people who don't want to pay huge amounts to security companies.
