Works Perfectly on 2004 Chevy Silverado Z71
I purchased the Chevrolet GM OEM Ignition/Doors Lock Key Cylinder Set with Keys and it fits and works perfectly on my 2004 Chevy Silverado. The ignition cylinder is quick and easy to install. The matching door lock cylinder replacement is a bit more challenging. I highly recommend you have / purchase an auto panel-trim removal kit from Amazon (as I had) to properly remove the interior door panel without damaging it. I also used a remote camera / endoscope I bought from Amazon to see within the tight space between the interior / exterior structural door sheet metal so I could remove the small metal wire clip that secures the door lock cylinder in place (and remove the adjoining plastic clip that moves the lock linkage as you rotate the lock with a key). Recommend searching for some of the online videos on the cylinder switch, and door look installs (if you aren't experienced with this) before you tackle but changeout is easy for older vehicles that do not have coded / computer chipped keys that have to be programmed. As for "security", I gave a 4 star rating simply because there really is no "security" programming / wiring required to install this switch and key on a vehicle that does not have embedded security chips.

Scary easy to install!
This was great for me. I went from having one working key to four in a day. I can’t believe how easy it is to change the ignition key switch. No wonder GM trucks from this era are stolen so often. I replaced the door handles with my new locks. All four keys start the truck and unlock the doors. I like to use the wider keys because they are easier to turn.

They work... Not exactly as pictured
At least one review complained about separate door keys, so I was worried about that. They were mistaken, all four keys are interchangeable. The set comes with two of the large keys and two small keys (which look like 90s GM door keys with rubber), but they all work in the doors and ignition. The components seem to be good quality. The keys have the GM logo, but I don't see how that's a detractor. I was concerned about needing to program anti-theft, but I didn't have to do anything, they just worked. 03-06 GM trucks don't have chips in the keys. I'm still not sure what to do about my spare tire lock, I can't find anything about rekeying that or any way to pop the older cylinder out. I might just take that to a locksmith.

Works, but not exactly as shown in the pics
I had some piece of human garbage try to steal my 2005 Silverado 2500HD. They punched the door lock, and tried to forcibly crank the ignition. Thankfully the didn't damage the ignition cylinder housing. Bought this hoping it was the right one after reading some reviews from people that used it on similar year vehicles, since the seller description is so vague. The ignition dropped in easily and it started the truck on the first turn of the key. It is a bit finicky turning the key back to pull it out. I have to find the right spot and the key releases. Part of this is that this ignition cylinder has the accessory position, where my original ignition cylinder does not. But even besides that difference, the key removal takes more finesse than my last cylinder. The door locks drop in with no problem. One thing to note is that the ignition and door locks use separate keys, not the one key shown in the item description. So you get 4 keys with this set. Speaking of keys... the are stamped GM, they do not have the Chevrolet bowtie logo on them. Not a big deal, but the description provided for this set is severely lacking in useful information and accuracy. Overall I would def recommend this set if you have the misfortune of needing to replace your door locks and ignition cylinder after an attempted theft.

Does not fit my 2002 Chevy S10 truck
This did not fit my 2002 S-10 Chevy pick-up. The lock body casting in my vehicle has 1 spring-loaded ear the locks the lock assembly in place. The lock purchased from Amazon had to fixed ears which made it unusable for my truck. I could not find the correct lock on Amazon and purchased it from another online dealer.

2003 Avalanche 1500. Ignition cylinder was a snap. I cheated even more so using a coat hanger to reach in to the hole that releases the cylinder. New cylinder slid in and locked in. Works great!
