WOW! All this for $35? Might save your monitor from breaking too?
For background, I came from an IT job in which we used HumanScale M8 and M8.1 monitor arms. These are $300-400 products, so at least 10x more expensive. When I went to look for my own personal monitor arm, I was amazed at how cheap these were - I thought for sure that it would be junk and wouldn't feel solid like the ones I use at work. While there are some very tangible differences between the HumanScale M8 arms and this North Bayou, functionally they're remarkably similar. Interestingly enough, this arm was easier to put together than the HumanScale ones, and I was impressed at the materials with which its made. The HumanScale arm is a beautiful piece of matte metal, while this is a thinner, lighter black, glossy metal. The North Bayou still inspires confidence, but not in the same way.The North Bayou is easy to pivot around and adjust, and required far less adjustments than the HumanScale arms that I was used to. It's easy to hit the ground running with it.The arm has already saved my monitor once - I left my chair under the standing desk and hit the button for the desk to come down. The desk buckled with the chair under it, which would have caused my monitor to tip over and break the screen if it had been on its normal stand. However, with the monitor being on the arm, it simply buckled along with the desk and was completely fine. All in all, I give this monitor a huge thumbs up for its value, and I am thoroughly convinced that there is no need for someone to buy a $400 monitor arm if these exist.

The best monitor mount I've ever purchased in my life
I rarely write reviews, not because I don't care about it, but because most of the products I buy are generally "OKay" even when they are 4 or 5 stars. Notwithstanding, I am absolutely impressed with everything related to this monitor stand/arm. Truly one of the few products you will ever find that appears to have been designed by engineers that actually use and care about it!In a nutshell, it is Incredible strongly and impressively easy to assemble. A person with one hand can put it together with no struggle.I've mounted it with an ultra-widescreen 16:9 monitor from LG, which is not exactly light but is bulky due to its natural dimension. After having it settled, I ended up finding myself like a kid playing with the monitor, moving it around and around, almost disbelieving how much mobility it gained despite the desk being against a wall. But it is true. I can now move the monitor to incredible positions and angles, including back and forward, and it simply stays where I leave it. NO SHAKING!!!If you can imagine those robotic arms from a Transformers movie... Well, it is how it feels like.Beyond its strongness and mobility, the design is gorgeous and it is noticeable the incredible attention to all details. The cable holders are no simple pieces of cheap snapping plastic like most stands offer, it is a true conduit that can hold the cables while keeping them free for the arm movements. If it wasn't enough, the stand can be mounted in the edge of the table or through a whole, so it will virtually fulfill any requirement. The documentation is also very decent. It comes folded like a map, but it is impressed in glossy paper and well descriptive, including detailed pictures and written in English. Finally, the packaging is also something to clap about, and it brings some different size screws for the monitor mount (which most stands and arms simply seem to forget users will need).Bottom line is, if I could shake the hands of the people responsible for this product, I truly would. Sadly, it is hard to find this sort of quality nowadays, and this stand is one of a kind. It easily worths 5x the advertised value, making it the best deal ever! I am buying more, and most likely I will replace all the ones I have soon. BTW, I just found the same product in a dual-head version and it looks out of this world.I strongly recommend this product.

Great mount for a great price, with only minor complaints
I have two of these, one I got used from a friend, and one I just purchased. They are mostly the same, with some minor changes in the newer model. The newer one has a very visible yellow plastic logo on the base that I wish I could remove. The height adjustment for the gas spring tension is also not at the top of the mount, but the underside.I have a 27" and 24" monitor each mounted on one of these and they both seem pretty sturdy. I don't worry they are going to fall or anything. Adjusting position is pretty easy, especially for my cramped alcove desk. Overall I love these mounts and definitely choose them over standard non-gas spring mounts. Great affordable option that still feels sturdy and high qualityIn terms of assembly:- this thing has some weight, and is much easier to assemble with two people (I assembled using the clamp mount through a grommet hole in my desk). I much prefered the clamp mount assembly as it seemed sturdier and allowed for easier cable management in my case- the cable management cover on the lower arm is a B***H to get on and off, since the space between the screw hole and the desktop is not enough for me to fit a standard screw driver into. Also, if you have thicker cords, it can be difficult to weave them in and out the cover.- monitor with flush VESA MOUNT (my 24" LG) was super easy to mount-you just partially thread the top screws then slide it onto the mount. A sunken VESA like on my 27" ASUS was a little trickier, but still doable with one person. Also came packaged very nicely.

Great for an extra monitor set up
Needed this for an extra monitor set up and it works amazing. The Quality is great, I've had no issues with this thing. The mobility allows you to adjust up down and however you like. There is a bit of restriction depending on how you tighten it, but for the most part you have complete control. You can even angle your monitor for a better view. Setup was pretty easy it comes with the necessary screws to attach to your monitor. It even comes with a little attachment for good cable management.
