The Magicians: The Complete Series [DVD]

Wonderful story line that pulls you in 10 out of 10

Still watching it on Netflix but cannot wait to rewatch it over and over. My new favorite show and obsession.

The Magicians is my fave all time tv series, full stop. It was on Netflix forever, which is where I first found the show. Now it is on Tubi, but there are commercials and after every commercial it has to buffer out again, causing a few moments of bad video quality. One of my other shows that I love to rewatch (Raising Hope) was on Prime and now it's nowhere, and they don't have a box set for that show. For fear of losing access to The Magicians forever at some point, I had to make this purchase even though I read through previous reviews for The Magicians, and saw that there was a chance some of the discs would arrive scratched. I used Amazon points, so no harm no foul, right? And yes, Amazon shipped this blueray box set in a flimsy paper envelope instead of packaging it in a box with packing paper. One of the clips to close the box is broken. Some of the discs were not firmly in place, so there was some sliding that may have occurred. The manufacturing of the box set is total crap. Multiple discs fit onto the same stub. It has two pages that are overloaded with discs in a flimsy plastic box. Luckily, none of my discs appear to be scratched. As I am about to start season 5 on my current play through of the show, I will start with season 5 disc one and go through the series again to ensure all my discs work as expected before it is too late to make an exchange. I love this show so much that I have no issues watching it back to back to ensure my discs are in good working order. As for the show: this is Harry Potter for adults. All of the characters are well thought out and have full backstories. Adult content, gritty, magical (duh), horrifying in its depth, completely engrossing. I have lost count of how many times I have rewatched this series. I still love my fave characters, and I still hate the ones I hate, LOL. You will laugh out loud. You will feel the entire gamut of emotions. You will most likely cry and cheer, possibly in the same episode. P.S. Don't bother with the books. I read them after falling in love with this series and was completely disappointed. The author is too wrapped up in ensuring you know how brilliant his characters are that he couldn't write an actual story worth reading.

The series: awesome, exciting, well produced. Has a couple episodes with some really good music. I really wanted a physical copy because I've already lost a few shows from Syfy that I'm starting to think never existed? The packaging: not great. It's a big flimsy case with a multiple disc holder/file thing inside. They're all accounted for and look great, but the case is not super good. The shipping: this was sent in a small paper mailer for some reason? The DVD case itself was undamaged and had the plastic shrink wrap on it, but if you care about the dust sleeves, mine went straight in the bin since it was dented on all corners and slightly damp from the storm.

Weather kept me in & watched entire series. I’d rate it above average. They could have not thrown the F bomb so much, though. Would say this series is for 18+ year olds, possibly 21+ year olds due to rather adult themes. Now to the disc holder trouble people were having. I can understand the frustration customers have had with blu ray disc holder. However, fairly easy to remove & insert blu ray discs once you get the hang of it. Ran into what others were saying, but kept tinkering & found a simple way to remove discs. The trick: each blu ray disc is held in place by 2 nipples. Take your thumb & press down on 1 of them & disc should release ok if you turn disc with fore finger on same hand while pressing down with thumb. To reinsert line up center of disc with 2 nipples & a gentle push should lock it into place. Caught some episodes on ScI Fi channel. Thought to get the series on Blu Ray while on sale to see complete series. The complete case was mint condition when I received, but a few discs loose with scratches. So, to be safe as I ordered a replacement & will swap those out. Like the compact case for all seasons. Hope my recommendation of disc removal helps. Once you get the rhythm of how they want you to remove discs it kinda makes sense. Although the plastic inserts are stiff plastic I don’t think it will hurt the disc over time. Believe the case should be long lasting. UPDATE: A few discs were loose when I received originally. I ordered a complete replacement & would recommend you do the same if discs loose as a few episodes skipped for me & simply replaced them with the replacement I ordered.

Giving it 5 stars because it's a stellar show that's absolutely worth checking out. But 0/5 stars for Amazon because jesus h christ, it was shipped it one of their flimsy envelope bags so of course the package arrived completely smashed to bits and the discs loose and scratched. And of course I have to take time out of my day to go return in person to get the refund, and I can't even opt into getting a replacement copy because they have a policy on the return page where YOU CAN'T REPLACE IT WITH THE SAME ITEM THAT YOU'RE RETURNING WHAT IS THAT MALARKEY. Thank you.

The Magicians Complete Series DVD Box Set is disappointing. The packaging is not good at all. The case arrived with the bottom completely broken and the plastic is shattered. The very first dvd will not play at all. However the second dvd is working so far. It's a good show. But I do not recommend this product because it's broken and the first dvd will not work.

The Magicians is one of the best fantasy/drama series - ever - to be made from book to screen. Being a huge fan of both the books and the TV Series, I was ecstatic to find this box set for the price that it was, as everywhere else wanted over £100, especially with it being in Bluray format. The order took a while to arrive, though when it arrived I was thrilled to binge-watch all 5 seasons. Very satisfied with the item, and the delivery. I will certainly consider buying from this vendor again.

Vienen las 5 temporadas completas. Pero solo vienen 4 lados con discos unos sobre otros. Hubiera preferido cajas con lados para discos individuales, pero lo importante es la serie. Solamente viene en inglés. Estoy muy feliz con mi compra.

Muy mal grabados, se detienen en todo momento, siendo imposible ver un Capitulo completo sin interrupcion. No recomiendo .
