Crystal Body Deodorant, Rock, 5 Ounce

I thought I'd give crystal deodorant a try since I tend to struggle with excess sweat. But, regular antiperspirants with aluminum salts tend to clog my pores, are difficult to wash off, and irritated my skin. This is a good option as it can be used all over the body. While not as effective as the traditional aluminum salt stick antiperspirant deodorant it does work. The crystal leaves a layer of potassium alum on your skin to make an antibacterial barrier preventing bacteria from proliferating and breaking down your sweat which is where the smell comes from. The potassium aluminum salt does act as an astringent and antiperspirant to prevent sweat as well. I have used this on freshly shaved skin too and found no irritation. The crystal is large and hard and should last for years. It is better to wet the skin than the stone for the stone to last. Caution, potassium alum disrupts the crystal structure of marble and granite so it should not touch another stone surface. I have found this easy to use when fresh out of the shower by adding it in a circular motion on clean damp to wet skin. It adds protection for at least half a day with better results seen when reapplied at least once to twice a day. This is unscented. I add a scented aluminum free deodorant for scent alone.

These are great! I had my first one for more than a decade, only had to replace it because I dropped it and it shattered. They work really well when used daily. No scent, no aluminum. Doesn’t irritate your skin or discolor clothing.

I found that I prefer to use this as a spray verses rubbing directly on my skin. I'd advise anyone that developed irritation to try this method. I fill a quart jar with water, put the salt block in it and seal. I leave it for like 2 weeks to make salt water and then remove the salt block. I then use that jar to refill my little spray bottle. I spray my arm pits after a shower and each morning and I have no smell. It is not an antiperspirant, you will still sweat. But no odor, no stains, no transfer, no chemicals! I looked back through my previous orders and found that every block has lasted me just over 2 years!

It’s a good size. I will say wet it before you rub it on it helps activate the properties. Im the type that stinks when I sweat and deodorant sticks have darkened my armpits so much it’s annoying. I used this rock and it did do something even though it dosent have a sent it’s supposed to help kill gems not cover up smell, this is only after you get out of the shower don’t carry it around in your purse, get a mini spray deodorant for on the go use! I’m sure it’ll take time and consistency to show amazing results, I recommend using glycolic acid with this to really help kill the germs in your pits!

I have always known about this product but had no idea that it would actually work for me because I am a very sweaty woman! I prefer to use deodorant-only with as few dangerous chemicals as possible, but the one I've been using for the last few years still leaves me with bad B.O. after a short time. A friend suggest this Rock to me and I thought it wouldn't work, but after realizing all of my summer shirts are now infused with my bad BO even before I wear them, I decided I needed to do something different before people start avoiding me! I honestly have NO armpit odor after using this thing! It is amazing! I don't even sweat as much as I used to, and this is July in a southern state. So far, it's lasted all day and night without reapplying, though I did reapply one time after being outside for a few hours in the heat. I am so happy that I no longer stink! UPDATE! I was so so sad to develop an absolutely terrible rash after about 3 weeks of use. I had to stop using it, but once my pits healed, I gave it another try. Imagine my surprise when, right after use, I felt a TON of salt left in my pits! Turns out, after a few weeks of use, some of the salt starts to loosen up on the rock, and when you use it, larger than normal deposits of salt wind up in the armpits. As you sweat the salt melts so it's not noticeable that there is a tablespoon or so of salt in there, which is obviously too much and is irritating. Simply be careful to dust off the chunks of salt from the armpits right after use. No more irritation and terrible rash for me! Second update: If you are using this and sometimes you smell and sometimes you don't, it's probably your old pre-rock shirts! I used to use a heavily scented deodorant because I sweated so much and would end up with stinky pits. Since I used the overly scented deodorant every day, I didn't notice how bad my actual shirts smelled once I started getting a little sweaty. Of course I wash my laundry and am not a gross person at all, however once I started using the rock, as soon as my pits would get a little damp, those older shirts would begin to stink of a mixture of B.O. and my old deodorant. Even my shirts I've washed tons of times, done vinegar soaks to remove the old pit odors, and shirts I've bleached!! I happened to buy a few new shirts post-rock, and none of them have that odor at all. So now I'm buying all new shirts that won't get stinky with old funk with the slightest amount of sweat.

I've been using it for a little over a week now and it works great. If you're working out or it's particularly hot, you may want to reapply but otherwise I love it and haven't gotten a rash or anything either.

I like this product but it does scratch you but again I think I need to use another side. It controls the odor.

Works great as a complete replacement for deodarant. I used to react to the glycol in regular deodarant. I have no issues with the crystal. The only hazard to using the crystal is to the floor or feet. When dropped it can fracture the floor and or bruise your foot.

At first I was skeptical about this product but it turned out to be a new concept in personal higiene (Which in many cultures is not new!) If you care for your money and environment there’s no discussion in getting this item. My husband and I have been using it for over an year now. Shirts are no longer yellowish, and surprisingly no nasty smells!!
