Great sheets, but make your own trap!
Do yourself a favor if you're looking at the traps these refills are for - skip the trap. These sticky paper sheets work great. There's no attractant added or anything. The ridiculous (and poorly reviewed) trap assembly they go to is supposed to provide that with its (unreliable) light. See, fleas (despite what you might think) are VERY drawn towards light sources and will tend to amass near consistent light. So armed with this knowledge you should instead make your own, vastly superior (and cheaper) trap. You will need:1) A light source, a good night light should suffice. These will only really be effective at night anyway.2) Disposable (paper) plates, large size. 12 inches or so most likely (You'll need about 10 inches of surface area for these sheets).3) Double-sided tape to adhere the flea trap sheets to the plate. (Attach the sheet to the plate BEFORE you remove the protective paper from the flea trap sheet.)I really liked the idea of Victor's Ultimate Flea Trap, but there was no way I was going to spend $20 on something filled with reviews of it failing after so little time! Also its design is very poor, preventing fleas from coming in from the top (why do they think fleas only hop a couple of inches up at most?) and minimizing the amount of light that would attract fleas in the first place. Making your own trap is substantially cheaper and most home outlets you'd put night lights in are about the right height over the floor to be perfect for this. The flea trap sheets themselves are wonderfully sticky. Your life won't be ruined forever if your thumb accidentally brushes across the glue-surface while putting them in, but they do snare fleas like a champ. I'm really sorry that I can't recommend the product these refills are meant for, but in this case the product is ruining the best part of the whole!

Works well for their intended purpose
I don't actually use these with the trap unit they are designed for- I simply place them out with an incandescent lamp shining on them, and the results are more or less the same. You can make a bigger trap by sticking two or three together at the edges. You can prolong their life for cheap with a roll of Gorilla Tape or Tough Tape (the super-strong version of duct tape). When the traps start to get less sticky, place a layer of Gorilla Tape face-up on the traps to give them renewed stickiness. In my case, Gorilla tape was sticky enough to grab fleas. Not sure if the color of the tape makes them less "attractive," but I was able to catch them on the tape. The glue traps make a good indicator for a flea problem, and in bad cases they will help you thin the adults out during your eradication campaign... but don't rely on this to eradicate them. They treat one of the symptoms, but not the full problem which is females laying eggs. In my case, I never caught more than one or two in a week, and vacuum+spraying seemed to take care of them (for now, I hope). When tackling a flea problem, DON'T FORGET TO VACUUM! 80-90% of a flea population is in egg or larva form, and female fleas lay dozens of eggs per day... do the math. If you kill/catch the fleas but you don't vacuum or spray the eggs, you will never be rid of them. Vacuum the couch, the carpets, along corners, under furniture, etc. Vacuum every couple of days at least, anywhere they appear on the traps... and don't stop until a few weeks after you stop catching them. Buy a handheld dust-buster if it helps you stick to a vacuum routine. Lastly, empty the bag or cylinder OUTSIDE of your house, and not in your trash... for obvious reasons. Wouldn't hurt to spray your bag after each cleaning too.Good luck with your flea problem!

So good, I plan to take them with me if I ever move. Don't want to remember what it was like before I had these traps n refills
These flea traps and refills are fantastic. Seriously, I am not sure if I will ever want to go without them again. Even when fleas aren't a problem, these sticky pads are catching spiders, gnats, moths, a few unidentified weird bugs, and even two mice (that was a shock to wake up to). Do I want to remember what my house was like before getting these traps and sticky pads? Not really! We keep three traps up now (one in the living room and one in each bedroom that we use). The one in the living room is close to the front door, which gets left open some evenings, and after one week there are literally 40+ gnats and small flying insects in it. The only negative I've found with them is that the light bulbs seem to burn out pretty quickly, but then again they are on 24/7, so perhaps that is to be expected.Edit: Wow, it's been a year that I've had these traps and been specifically using the flea trap refills designed for them. Now, a year later, I feel exactly the same as I did when I posted this review. They've stood up to the test and continue to catch fleas, flies, moths, spiders and now one young snake. Yuck. That was unpleasant but goodness I'm glad it was caught by the trap/sticky pad! I have no idea what it is about these refills specifically but they work better than just putting soap and water in the bottom and better than off-brand sticky pads. Eventually over a few weeks the stickies attract enough dust that I have to change them, but I consider it well-worth it to keep buying new pads and will continue to do so!
