Great for a little buddy heater.
I bought this with the expectation that it was going to fall over it be unsturdy. I was wrong. It is rock solid and holds my little buddy heater up. Provides A wide base so you don't have to worry about your heater falling over. I highly recommend. Great product. Your 1 lbs. Cylinder slips securely into it.

Super tank holder
Ordered this to hold my heater tank for inside my golf cart. It's plastic, but well made and very stable. To give myself a little more security, I mounted it on a piece of wood so I can sit it on the floor of my cart and adjust the heater head as I need to. Works great and I'm so glad I got it. Sure helps keep the cold in check when using it while golfing.

Read the size before ordering!
The item will make using the smaller propane canisters safer to use and as such I highly recommend it. I like the way it is expandable and thus collapses into a smaller size for storage. Speaking of size, I was looking for one that was for the larger BBQ propane tanks. I am not sure if I clicked on the wrong product or just didn’t read the details correctly. So I donated it to someone I knew could use it.

Stable
I like the stand it makes the lantern very stable and could be folded up for smaller areas. Seems to be built well it does not fall off the gas bottle when you pick it up.

description not accurate
I got this for special application with a large base bottle. Bought a different one for the small base bottles. Turns out this can use both large and small base bottles. The description does not say that at the time I purchased it. The fold out legs look and feel weak. Under rougher conditions, would likely break. For my use, should be ok. I gave it 5 stars, because I am not going to use the fold out legs.

Perfect Stand
I wanted this stand to support my propane bottles in my workshop, not for cooking. With a Bernzomatic torch head that weighs almost as much as the bottle I needed something to keep things stable and this does the job perfectly. Which ever bottle I select it fits firmly with no slop so I can operate my torch hands off with confidence that I won't burn my shop down. This seller has two things going against him:1. They are only marketing this for use with the large bottles when it is really more universal than that.2. Customers that buy overpriced specialty bottles with a plastic foot or base that makes it non-standard and then give less than 5 stars because their no-standard bottle doesn't fit the standard size stand. Come on guys, there is nothing special about propane just because it has your camping suppliers label on it.

Not very secure with Coleman propane bottles—it needs a redesign
This is not a complicated product and it seems well built but its design is flawed—or, rather, in need of an update. You buy this because you need to hold a propane bottle securely upright (I got mine to support a room heater). But, if you buy Coleman propane bottles (or from any maker whose bottles now have a plastic scratch guard on the bottom, you will find the bottles do not fit securely in the base. The base has indentations inside to allow the indented bottom of the bottle to mate and fit snugly (and securely). The plastic guard on the bottom of the Coleman bottles prevents the base from mating and the bottle now only fits in about halfway—not far enough to securely hold a bottle with an appliance (like a heater or a stove) screwed on top. In fact it actually makes things more precarious. Now, if you can remove the plastic guard from the bottom of the propane bottles, this base works great. But those plastic bases are very securely glued on and you'll likely loose a few fingernails trying to remove them. The real solution is a redesign of the base to remove those indentations. Given the number of years Coleman (and others) has been gluing plastic covers on the bottom of their bottles I'm surprised Stansport has caught up.
