Better than a jacket/pack cover
I used this for a month-long hike on the AT in 2022. It held up through many days of use, and did its job of keeping me and my pack dry. I kept it in the lid of my pack for easy access without having to take my pack off. It goes on quickly and it is easy enough to button the clasps together while wearing a pack. I definitely prefer this type of poncho to a rain jacket + pack cover because 1) it is one piece, so it’s quicker to put on and take off, 2) it doesn’t allow rain to pool between your back and the open area of the back of your pack, and most importantly 3) it allows for much more air flow. Rain jackets will keep you from getting wet from rain, but will ensure that you get wet from your own sweat. That problem is much reduced with a poncho. I would also use it to cover my pack overnight while i slept in my hammock. Overall I recommend this product.

Keeps the rain off your back!
Recently had this out in an absolute torrent and stayed mostly dry. The only complaint i have was that the gusset at the neck tends to drip water down your front. This would have been better if i had cinched it up tight but i don't like having it clamped down around my face. This is not an uncommon problem with most rain gear so I wouldn't ding it off for that. It is very long in the back which let it completely cover my pack and keep it dry which to me was more important than anything. The buttons make getting the extra up and out of the way really easy and the loops sewn in so you can use it as a shelter with trekking poles are a nice touch!

The envy on the trail
the first day of rain, and the group I'm hiking with all grab their rain gear. rain jackets were too warm or didn't cover enough. this poncho covered me and my pack, and allowed good airflow for a full day of hiking in the rain.I had found this in an Amazon search prior to my trip, and couldn't be happier.

A bit disappointed: snaps are not well-constructed, bad choice in wind, and doesn't cover large pack properly.
Maybe I'm just not a "poncho type of guy", but I'm not ecstatic about this item. It keeps you mostly dry (except for lower legs and some side-regions) but I find it annoying and pesky, especially in windy conditions. Don't buy this if you are carrying a large pack. I carry a 60L pack with sleeping mat attached externally. I found that the poncho had trouble properly getting around me and the backpack, and when I got it just right a snap would un-snap. Then the neck would tighten, then wind would gust up and I would have to re-adjust. I will be switching back to rain gear and this poncho will mostly go un-used, unfortunately. Except for the snap issue, it is well made and waterproof.

Light Weight Rain Protection
Poncho met all of my expectations - carried it on my belt while hiking in Norway. Weather changed from minute to minute and I was able to access it, put it on quickly, and when the rain stopped, remove it easily and pack it away. It kept me dry enough in a moderate rain and the hood, combined with a baseball cap, kept the rain out of my eyes. The belt loop could be better placed for easier, more convenient carrying. Not perfect but performed as hoped and am very satisfied.

It keeps the rain off. Wear a billed cap or a hat with a brim, and it will keep your glasses clear. BUT: you can't hear anything at all while wearing it! So be advised to keep a sharp eye out for things approaching that you don't actually hear because the taffeta rustles a lot.

Bought it for my Dad (who is 6'3" tall). Fits fine. Does the job on rainy days when his dog needs to go out while the weather is bad. So far holding up like new after a year of off and on use as needed.
