Ok I got these 3 years ago and they worked ok, decent run time in kids RC cars etc. I left them for 2 years and fished them out recently totally discharged and put them in the charger, they were on for 6 hours and charger lights for each battery staying red showing still charging...they were Extremely Hot to the touch.. Extremely!!. I have 16 of these and all done the same, let them cool down and tried again for the same to happen..I tried a trick which has worked for all of them, I dropped each battery from 2 ft onto a solid surface onto the negative side several times and placed them in the charger again and low and behold they all charge properly now and the light turns green and they only get warm during charging. I have fitted them to RC cars and they now seem to last longer than went I got them new, and I have saved myself replacing them. So if deeply discharged for a long time try this. I am now happy with these batteries again. Don't Not let these get extremely hot as they can explode, again I state this only happened to mine because they were left fully discharged for 2 years and charged normally and worked normally before being put in storage.

Great for the price can't fault them so far.

I have a smart charger.On a 'Break-in' cycle, setting the capacity of these unused AA cells to the stated value of 2800mAh,cell 1 reported 839 mAhcell 2 reported 1105 mAhnot believing what I was seeing, I did a 'Refresh and analyse' cycle for both with charge rate at 1000 mA and discharge rate at 500mAAfter the refresh and analyse cyclecell 1 reported 1354mAhcell 2 reported 1441 mAhI wish I had done this test earlier so that I could have returned them for a refund!I decided to post with some picture proofs, so did another break-in cycle on them, setting the capacity to 2000mAh. See pictures for results.cell 1 reported 1692mAhcell 2 reported 1743mAhMeaning of the cycles:Break-In Mode (IEC capacity analysis)=============================· Applies a 16-hour 0.1C charge (0.1 times the capacity of the battery), rest of one hour, followed by a 0.2C discharge, rest again, and finally a 16-hour 0.1C recharge again.· Recommended for brand-new batteries. This process is also known as “Forming Charge.” Also recommended with batteries that cannot be rescued by the Refresh & Analyze mode.· Recommended once every 30 cycles for NiMH batteries.· Requires 39 to 45 hours to complete.· The process follows the IEC standard for determining battery capacity.Refresh & Analyze Mode===================· First recharges the battery, rest for two hours, discharges, rest, then recharges again. Charging and discharging rates are programmable.· Reports the discharge capacity at the end of the cycle.· Useful when the battery capacity needs to be determined. Also useful for battery with degraded performance.· Recommended once every ten cycles for NiMH batteries.
