I didnt realize we had hard water but I noticed a change in my hair texture when I moved into a new home. I read hard water could have that effect and also a damaging effect on your skin increasing chances for signs of early aging. We rent so a whole home filtration systems is not an option for us right now. We got two for each mine and husband's bathroom. Immediately I noticed a difference and it made my water feel like butter on my skin. I couldn't believe the difference. I did not tell my husband what it did, only that he put it in his shower, and after his first one he said it the shower felt different and soft. He was shocked to find out how hard our water was and what a change it did when using this filter. Will be repurchasing for the rest of our days here.

Seems to do the trick. Moved into a new place and the first night I washed my hair I noticed it was much more frizzy and dry than ever, making it look unhealthy. Washed it with this filter in place the other day and my hair seems to be back to normal. Worth a try!

I decided to pick this filter over others since it had three-stage filtering instead of two and because of the size difference. This thing is quite small for a shower filter and looks great. It barely changes the height of the shower head.Usually, with this kind of product, I would do thorough tests and allow more time before providing a review. However, with so many bad reviews posted so quickly after using the product, I guess I will leave the review after a couple of weeks of use.Pros:Water seems cleaner. Haven't purchased test strips yet, but definitely produces more suds.Looks great.Very compact.Great Price.Has NOT slowed flow at all.Cons:None at this time.There are many reviews on here talking about flow issues which caused me to almost not buy this. However, with the money-back guarantee, I still did and I am glad I did. If you have major sediment issues with your water and/or are on well water, you will probably have flow issues no matter what if you do not have whole house filters installed.I use a high-efficiency shower head. I get a great shower while using only .75 GPM. Perhaps the bad reviews got a flawed item. Perhaps they have a lot of sediment in their water with no filters anywhere in their house before this. Or, perhaps they are one of those people who do not care about our environment and use 5 GPM showerheads. Bottom line, this is a great product!

I bought a rainfall showerhead that came with a filter but only on the rainfall head and so the handle shower head wasn't filtered too close to the wall for a normal size filter and I was worried that using the handheld that I was still using unfiltered hard water. This filter came in clutch as it is just fits with the hose attached. It took a few tries trying to get it to not leak out the sides. Just took a lot of plumbers tape and a little paitience. Looks nice and I do feel better knowing that all my water is being filtered. My skin is feeling really nice these days.

I was not happy when I opened the delivery box and assumed, with reason, that there was no housing and only a filter cartridge with no housing. I even started my return/refund process. I have used many filtering systems for the shower, and usually, the replacement filter cartridges come in the exact same sized box as this entire unit is in. Since Amazon backs this product and the Rainshower "Cameo" does not filter dangerous chloramines out of the water and this claims to deal with free chlorine and the horrible chloramines as well, I will try it and hope that it works. I may be thankful I opened it "to be sure" before returning it with what I first assumed. I hope this works! Most out there are not worth investing in since they do not deal with chloramines. Look into the chloramines and buy shower filters cautiously and wisely.

The filter works great for our extremely hard and overly chlorinated water, and I t was very easy to install, and doesn't take up a ton of space. However I guess I accidently over tightened it after installing the shower head because I can not get the enclosure apart to change the filter. The enclosure is made of a cheap plastic and in order to twist it hard enough to open it the plastic will crack. But for the price it's just as easy to order a new one as it is to order a replacement filter.

I am from Boulder and moved to Minneapolis a few years ago and didn't know anything about soft vs. hard water. The water in Minneapolis is so much harder than Colorado. All of my hair products stopped working and my hair became dry and dull. A watched a youtube video on healthy hair and one of the first things recommended was getting a hard water filter for your shower if you live in an apartment. I bought this one, which was recommended on the video, and now I can't shut up about what a difference it made on the health of my hair. I bought my younger brother, who live in Spokane, one for his birthday and he texted after using it saying how awesome it was and how much softer his hair is. If I live in a house, I would buy a water softener but this does the trick for apartment living. I would recommend this for anyone in an apartment or even looking to test the difference soft water has on your hair.
