A Kicking Horse...without the 'kick' of caffeine
When I was younger, being HIGHLY caffeinated was 'de rigueur' to get through the work day, but the coffee served at most places where I worked in was dismal at best. 🤢 So I began concocting morning coffees for the commute to the office, and as I learned more and more about the amazing world of coffee, I also started mixing my own bean blends for home use. Of course, nowadays, tracking down good ORGANIC coffee is always top of mind, too.Fast forward several years, and now that I'm older, I've discovered that a good 50/50 blend of both regular coffee with caffeine - as well as that without - seems to work much better for me now. I like my sleep. 😉 This is where having a great DECAF coffee is so important.I've tried several different varieties of decaf coffees, but seem to always go back to Kicking Horse. It's a dark roasted brew - my favorite roast - but it also has all the other things I like in a coffee: whole bean/Swiss water process, organic, fair trade, even Kosher. It's a surprisingly very smooth and rich brew. Who knew decaf could be this good on its own? This makes my afternoon (or post-dinner) 'cuppa' that much better!Overall, while I may still 'taste test' other brands, Kicking Horse is one of the best decafs out there, IMHO!

Like bold tasting coffee? This decaf is superior!!
Are you like me and have headed down that coffee rabbit hole? I bought a new coffee maker and decided to experiment with several types of coffee. I have a bit of sensitivity to caffeine, namely shaking like I forgot to put on a coat on a subzero day. So, I tried all the supermarket brands of decaf with crappy results. Save some time, money and effort and buy Kicking Horse decaf. It’s bold , not bitter and has a smooth finish. Kicking horse uses the Swiss method of decaffeination and after speaking with one of my coffee snob colleagues, they recommend this as the healthiest method. Kicking Horse has maintained a small batch company quality standard even though they aren’t.

Great decaf
I find this decaf to be the best I've found so far since Covid took out out local small roasting company. I personally don't think it's quite a dark roast, but I just use a little more. I love the flavor profile. When I first open a bag, I get a definite hit of hazelnut and once brewed, love the smooth, rich chocolate notes. If you do a mix of decaf and regular as I sometimes do, it goes really well with their Grizzly Claw. It has a similar flavor profile, but is a little lighter roast ( they label it a dark roast)Some people find it expensive, but it just depends on who you're buying from. Check all the prices, sometimes there's a really good deal. There's also always some way overpriced sellers. Just calculate the cost per ounce to make sure you're getting the best price.

Low histamine, rich, bold flavor but still smooth
This is really good decaf coffee. It is cleanly made with organic beans and does not make my histamine react like regular coffee or chemical decaf does. I can always take a clean caffeine pill if I need the boost. This is my second bag and it works nicely with my K-cup machine or French press. I like the whole bean, throw it in my grinder every few days, so each batch i grind is fresh. Now I don't have to do without while everyone around me enjoys coffee.

Great Decaf - tastes like caffeinated
I gave up alcohol 2 months ago, and always loved coffee but hate caffeine. All decaf tastes terrible and half caffeine was still too much, this is awesome tastes just like caffeinated coffee and now another stimulate I dropped.

A little too bitter for me
So I got these beans to start my aeropress brewing journey and tried them at different grind sizes, different water temperatures, and water/bean amounts. After experimenting a bunch and finding what tasted best, I still found the taste to just be ok. The aftertaste is a little too bitter for me. Really happy I got them for experimenting since they are one of the best bang for your buck for decent decaf coffee beans.

Better for you decaf option
Needed a decaf coffee that checked all the boxes for me (organic, whole bean, great taste, Swiss water process). This is it! Will repurchase.
