Neuroscience that’s understandable!!
I bought the hard copy of this book and found it fascinating. The future looks hopeful for so many that has had to deal with so much- paralyzed for no fault of their own, epileptic patients, etc. It’s also scary at the abilities that’s possible. Like everything else the unknown can be good and bad! Let’s see how it goes! I keep referring to it when I hear about the “dreamers” like Elon Musk. Even he says there has to be some kind of regulation on the federal level about surgical brain implants. It can be really scary!! Read a must- this is the future- like it or not- reality is staring us in the face!!

Flawed overview of the technology and industry
A really broad overview of AIMDs, their design, production and business aspects.Good:- It covers most of the important ideas related to the technology in a mostly detailed way- It's mostly comprehensible without requiring much of an engineering or more than high-school physics background- Mentioning of real-world applications and companies as well as the business side of things (including examples and a typical business plan in the appendix)Bad:- I've never read a book with as many typos and grammar errors as this one. It feels like no one read or corrected this before publishing.- A lot of page filling: repetition and mentioning of aspects only to come to the conclusion that they aren't applicable to AIMDs- A few very important aspects are left out entirely, for example there's no mention of AI / Machine Learning other than a few sentences claiming that it could be important and useful in the future. Well, it is important and useful already because without these algorithms there would be no efficient way to handle or decode the measured activity. Conclusion: If you want a broad overview of the technology and industry with some more in-depth insights on the engineering side of it, go for it. Just make sure this isn't your only source of information on this topic.
