Ryobi RY40007VNM Brushless Expand-It 40-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Attachment Capable Trimmer Power Head- 2020 Model (Battery and Charger NOT Included)

Its great to have something as powerful as the gas powered tools. I use a blade with this one for the bigger stuff

I had a 40v brushed model for 2+ years, and it worked fine. Had decent power, but it grenaded on me edging this spring. Bought this, as I had an HP battery already, and didn't want to have to buy new batteries, or try and figure out what brand was compatible with all my accessories.This thing has SO much more power. I run the edger on "low", and it just eats what the old power head used to trip the thermal fuse on, and the weed eater/blower on high are doing so much more work now. The only issue is my 4AH battery isn't "HP", so the BLOWER trips out on high.

i bought to replace my 2 year old unit with a cracked tube (i had already purchased several attachments so wanted to keep the system).; note the new unit didnt come with a handle, which i didnt need because i took it from the old, damaged unit. Also note, this new unit has a reinforced sleeve around the tube, where my old unit cracked.

I bought this power head without batteries since I already had two 40V Ryobi batteries for other tools. I tried the 40V, 4AH from my fully charged 3 y/o leaf blower and the power head did not work. I tried my 40V, 2 AH fully charged battery from a different tool. It still didn't work. Both of those batteries function as expected in their respective tools. They take and maintain a charge as expected.I borrowed a brand new 40V 4AH battery from a neighbor and the power head worked. After several frustrating attempts to contact Ryobi (on hold forever and unanswered e-mail) I finally got to talk to a Ryobi CS rep. He could offer no solution except that the problem must be my old batteries even though they work fine in 4 other tools including a new leaf blower.My options seem to be, buy another Ryobi battery, return the power head for a refund. In any case, the poor customer service response from Ryobi convinces me that I will never buy another one of their products.

I thought brushless was supposed to be faster/smoother? This thing sounds like a garbage disposal with a fork in it while using. Works, but I don’t imagine for long with what I’m hearing.3 stars for now, we’ll see how this holds up. Ryobi used to be cheap, so it was acceptable that it was more of a disposable item. That’s not so anymore.

Great product since I already had the 18V Batt using Ryobi string, so I don't kill my wife garden. I get tree vine looking for water source and old grape/berry vine keeps coming back very summer. I stop rewinding my string an go at it with my Ryobi RY40007VNM Brushless. I also use it as sidewalk edger.

I use Troy built and craftsman attachments with it his and the 6ah battery from my new ryobi mower and they work perfectly. Battery life is reduced compared to mower but they work perfectly.

My old ryobi trimmer head not working properly..I got this replacement working over my expectations..so quiet et very aggressive.
