I ordered a pair of High Stream Gear ice cleats for my 9 year old granddaughter. They arrived promptly and look beautiful! An avid hiker myself, I am delighted that my granddaughter will be able to hike safely with me on icy terrain. Although we haven't had a chance to use them on ice and snow yet, they look well crafted, are light weight and without tripping her up or getting clogged with snow, they look like they will stabilize her on icy slopes. My son and I are working through our Winter 35 in the Catskills which means a lot of hiking on steep icy terrain. The size S fit his size 3 keen hiking boots well. The problem with the sizing chart is that the low end is ridiculous--the difference in physical size from a 13.5 to a 5 is tremendous and no stretch rubber could accomodate that. The S range is more like 1.5 or 2 to 5 at most. Grip wise, they are comparable to my own K***toolas and taking them on/off is similar. Compared to the K***toolas the chain/link material is a LOT thinner (the blue is the kids' spikes, the red are mine) though. We're very diligent about not putting the spikes on until necessary, then not stepping on rocks or bare ground if avoidable until they're off again. If you just strap your kid in and let him run all over frozen ground or rocks they'll get destroyed just like tire chains on dry pavement. We have about a dozen days in them and the links have come apart and needed pliers'd back twice, and one of the toe bars is totally MIA now (doesn't seem to matter). Also the carry bag is garbage. At the end of the day, though, for the money I think they're decent, and I don't know that there's a really high quality kid's option. The K***toolas will probably last 4 times longer so if you have that sizing choice and hike a lot, it's likely better to just buy once cry once.

My daughter is size 1 (big kid) and the small size fit her well (pictured). My hiking boots are US women’s size 6 and the medium size fit me very well and worked great for a hike.

Got the smallest size for my 90th percentile toddler with a size 8 shoe and while they're a little bit big so i flip in back of them inwards but they works great. Really happy with my purchase. It's been SO icy in central WA the last month and with these she slips much less if at all.

I got these for my 7 year old daughter for ice fishing. She was so thrilled that she could run across the ice without slipping! These fit perfectly on her boots and stayed put! I also have a pair and love them so much. Best purchase I have made in a long time.
