I probably should have sent this back because it didn't perform as described. First, you can't be more than about 10 or 12 feet from it to activate it. (Nowhere near 40-feet as described). Second, it activates so slowly that if someone walks by it, it doesn't turn on quick enough to observe anything in the video. Third, there is a red glow emanating from the camera that is obviously seen in the dark and brings attention to the camera - so the thief steals the camera too. I'm very disappointed in this product.

The camera is very easy to set up and takes great black and white night time pictures.Daytime pictures are color, but I don't need it during the day so I usually turn it off when I don't need it. This camera does not have a wide angle view. It's probably around 10 to 12 feet. If you need a wide angle then get a different camera that has that capability. This camera does what I hoped it would do, which is to keep an eye on a large door ( 10 feet wide ), during the night at my shop. It does a good job of that so I'm happy.

Camera works fine in daytime, but short range at night. Quality of daytime pics is good. But, I am gone a lot in the day and home at night so the camera works fine for me.

Continuous pictures for unknown reason, and of course then going through batteries. I have tried to reprogram ect. and face camera in different positions to eliminate sun. I am using camera as a trail camera so very disappointed with results. The pictures themselves are very clear. I have had two of these camera prior with one failing to take night time pics after some time. In that instance, you could only see the animals eyes shine. The price of these cameras are good but you get what you pay for!

I bought a pair of these to use as interim security devices. I only opened and tested one, then sent them right back. The video quality was adequate, but the field of view was much too narrow to be practical. I placed one at my garage door and at the end of my driveway, only 20' away, it would only capture an area about 9' in width. If you have a narrow area like an entryway that you wish to record, these should work fine. But they don't provide nearly enough field of view for anything else.

Im very happy with the Trace camera. I have a 32 gig sd card that holds hundreds of pictures. At times it will snap photos of leaves blowing in front of it. The sensitivity is great. I havent used the video feature of the camera but I do know that its there for me to use If I decide to use it. I should go and set it up and see how it works. I love the quality of the shots and it even picks up shots up to 40 feet from the camera.

Found this camera exceptional for the price. Easy to program and functional for security backup. In a darken stair case I tripped it and was amazed at this quality. There is a problem formatting because it doesn't erase each time. You have to double check each format.The batteries loosen up while carrying to my observation point. Just check before each setup. I'm buying more and still learning
