Santana The Ultimate Collection

I am not a huge fan of Santana so this was a good option for my music collection. Surprised at how few good tracks there are on it (for my taste). But at the price cannot complain.

This is one GREAT cd but be warned that the earliest 10 tracks presented on this disc were formerly a cd release called "Santana's Greatest Hits" and they are the shorter radio/single edits. Hence you will find that "Black Magic Woman" fades out before the lengthy guitar solo at the end. Also the "Evil Ways/Jingo" single is here and both songs are shorter than the album versions. Looks like CBS re-released "Santana's Greatest Hits" but added an extra 9 album tracks and renamed it "The Very Best Of Santana" which is what we have here. The additional 9 songs (including "Soul Sacrifice") are full versions.The shorter songs on the original "Greatest Hits" release that are repeated here are:Evil WaysJingoHope You're Feeling BetterSamba Pa TiPersuasionBlack Magic WomanOye Come VaEverything's Coming our WaySe a CaboEverybody's Everything

For me the better album is THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION mainly because when I was younger went to a mates house and his uncle W's into them and played most of these song very loud on headphones for me. but great to hear santana again.

This is the very best CD made by Santana. The music is superb - we play it all the time & never get fed-up with it.

Love this album which I had on vinyl years ago. As title suggests it has most of their best tracks including the sublime Samba Pa Ti. Some great virtuoso guitar playing and that great Latin rhythm! Took me back just listening to it again.

You just have to listen to the tracks if you don't know Santana, the instrumentals are deep and almost haunting in parts.Always been a fan of Santana, and to buy this cd, captured. The best tracks ever produced, great to play on an evening with your favorite drink in your MIT and reflect when you first heard the track ...or absorb the music for the 1st time

Another favourite - Great cd.

These tracks are from the early days of Santana and present some really good music that is worth hearing time and again. Other CDs have longer, more 'complete' versions. But still a worthwhile addition to your Santana collection.
