Zwilling J.A. Henckels TWIN Signature 6-pc Knife Block Set

I have been shopping for simple yet good value kitchen knifes and after some failed attempts with other brands I decided it was well worth it to spend a bit more to get a good product. I am very satisfied with the decision I made. These knifes are great, they are well made and don’t feel cheap or dull at all

I was initially skeptical about spending a significant sum on kitchen knives, but I was quickly assuaged on first usage. These knives feel solid, well balanced, and easy to control; of course they are exceedingly sharp as well. The chef's handled onions and steak with ease, while trimming mushrooms with the paring was nowhere near "dicey." I didn't need a ton of specialized knives to fill my needs, making this set just about perfect; I did supplement with the matching Twin 8" bread knife, however. This set offers a block with extra spaces, should you decide to expand later. I will likely be picking up the matching santoku at some point in the near future. I haven't had a chance to use the shears or utility knife, but I see no reason they wouldn't perform the same. Do yourself a favor, and if not these knives, invest in a quality set.

I picked this product because it came with enough knives, but did not overload the block with all of them. I have a few knives I wanted to keep and I wanted the option to buy others in the future. The block is very sturdy.As others have mentioned the knives come very sharp. Be careful if you've gotten sloppy with your handling of your old dull knives. But it is a joy to be able to cut so finely without the excess pressure of those old knives. The instruction book describes how to use the sharpening steel which is good because I know I need to use it, but didn't know how.

Great knives, real sharp, durable and work great for a beginner knife set

The knives are excellent - sleek, sharp, classy. The honing steel and block leave more to be desired (steel handle seems to be cheaper plastic, and block has hard-to-notice imperfections in slots and is Made in China unlike the rest of the set). Shears would also have been nicer if they were detachable. Overall, though, I'm not complaining and still giving this 5 stars because it cost less than $100 for the three quality knives!
