This cable actually works (unlike others that I have tried). It has the advantage of being very small, but coupled with a suitable USB-C results in the perfect charger cable length. Seems well made and is much better and cheaper than a dedicated cable. I may buy another just in case I misplace this one. I’m glad I bought this.

bought this to use with my powerbank & it works well, just make sure all your equipment is right for the job. standard usb2 ports & usb2 leads dont work, you need the orange coloured usb3 port & leads for it to work properly

does the job

The product arrived on time, however when plugged in to a USB-C cable and wall plug of the correct voltage/wattage/amperage, the cable does not power the device. Basically it is a defective cable. I tried various wall plugs, sockets and cables to see if it was a fault on my end, but it turns out, after putting a tester unit onto it to see if it takes power, it reads 0V, 0A & 0W. this means it is either just and adapter on each end of braided sheathing, or the wires inside are not soldered to the USB-C/surface connector. Not worth buying, not worth the effort to return the defective goods either as the supplier will still sell shoddy products to customers regardless of who complains or returns goods. However, Not all products out of the sellers home region are bad, as I have had some good quality products from China over the years, just a shame the seller here has to be one of the 1% who do sell low quality crap at low, low prices.

This adapter works great. But some people complain that it doesn't work at all and that is totally on the fact that their charger is not producing 44 watts of power. You need a charger thats atleast 45 watts for this to actually charge your surface. If you have a 20-watt or 30-watt charger, it probably won't work, and if it does, it will probably mess your battery up. The cable length is good too. It gives you maybe an extra 7 inches of length, which is nice. and I can confirm the light does work when plugged in.

The only reason why I bought this was because I got a new work laptop that had a usb type c connector and docking station. I wanted to be able to use my Microsoft surface pro with the docking station and use the monitors, but when I plug in the surface pro to the docking station with the adapter it only charges it and doesn’t extend the display to the monitors

Works good for my Surface 3 with the 65W fast charger from the Action. This one is good with the extra little wire to give some wiggle room and extra space to attach to the charger. I'm happy.

It works for the surface pro 7.

Crossed my fingers and ordered this cable after the included charger gave out. It has been working very well. The surface pro is working again. With a good PD source and a good USB C cable, the charge rate seems to be the same as the original charger. It's nice not having to carry a brick and bring able to use a standard USB C, which Microsoft should have supported to begin with. At the price, I ordered another one to replace this one when it reaches the end of its life.
