2 STARS for sizing, 4/5 STARS for quality. The sizing is way off for UK buyers.I'm slightly taller than average medium UK clothing sized, and I would say this "M" sized jacket fits me like an "XL" or maybe even "XXL" from a UK brand. If I'd followed the size chart with my 42" chest I should have actually bought an "L", which I can only assume would have been like wearing a tent. I can currently easily fit myself and two pillows inside this "M" and zip it up.For reference this Carhartt "M" has a pit to pit measurment of 25" (so 50" chest), sleeve is 27" shoulder to cuff (34" collar to cuff), and front collar to waist is 30".The plus side is that this is actually a very nice jacket, it's warm, durable and well made overall.If you are all about that loose 90's skater style, or are looking for a durable non waterproof winter coat that you can wear four other coats under then maybe buy on size but otherwise I would size down.If I bought this again it would definitely be another size smaller, possibly two. So their chart says I'm a "L" (probably on the cusp of M/L) I should have bought an "S", and probably could have worn an "XS".

Amazing jacket, super warm, lots of good little features like the drawstrings being inside the hood so they don't dangle down, the inside zip pockets, 3m insulation, etc.The fit is a bit on the large side, I bought a large and it is really comfortable but also a bit too long for my height and the hood is quite big as well.Would recommend though best jacket I have.

Wow, my first Carhartt jacket! Excellent quality, zipper is strong and the sleeves are snug but not too tight. It's lighter than expected but feels heavy if you pick it up. You could easily wear a jumper underneath if needed. Size XXL and I've got a 49 inch chest and typical weight lifter build, I always worry the neck will be too small but not with this jacket. I can move freely and don't feel weighted down. Length is fine too, although I'm not the tallest. Buy one, looks like it will last forever.

This jacket is great. Fits well, comfy, & if it hadn’t been advertised as having Sherpa lining I would’ve been over the moon with it - mine arrived & is not Sherpa lined. I have kept for daily use but pretty annoyed as this was a main reason for buying.

Absolutely love it, I vary in sizes so much depending on brand and opted for the XXL and could have probably managed with the XL but this feels nice and roomy.It is much warmer than I expected with it being cotton but the thinsulate lining really works well.This has definitely spurred me on to buy more from the carhartt range.
