A very enjoyable read.
One of three things happen when I decide to read an anthology of short stories. One, I lose interest after a few tales and never finish the book. Two, I finish the book and the stories are "okay" with maybe a couple that stand out. If I'm lucky, in the third case I find a book like this. All the stories held my interest and made me want to keep reading. If you are in the mood for something a little dark from writers at the top of their games this is it.

Good mix
The stories are a good mix. Some of them are keep you confused and surprised by the way it ends. Some are horrifying and lead to a simple piece of revenge.

Great gritty crime drama.
I enjoyed every story in this anthology. I’m happy that there are still word crafters who value the short story as a creative art form.

Lesser (definitely lesser) Noir Anthology
OK, I realize short story writing is a dying art. However, short story genre writing is alive and well, particularly in mystery and science fiction. Lawrence Sanders was really scraping the bottom of the slush pile to fill this anthology, unfortunately.

Excellent anthology. Block put a great one together.
If you like "dark" in your readings you will enjoy. Varied and compelling. I hope the signed hardcopy I ordered arrives in time to honor my bookshelf.

Good weekend read
A good selection of stories. Some can be thought provoking. I recommend it.

Average at best
A few gems, but mostly long boring exercises in attempts at creative writing....not worth the 10$ I paid for it. Lesson learned.....
