Some improvisation may be needed, but it's not bad at all!
***THIS IS NOT TYPICAL!!!***The instructions are lacking, although it's not that difficult. What many people don't realize is that the included hardware is for installation into masonry/concrete. I had some #10 3½" screws already and was able to use those to screw the brackets into the wall where my studs were located. Unfortunately, it wasn't a perfect match on the other end. As a result, I went to my local hardware store and found the drywall anchors pictured. Those, combined with the additional holes I drilled into the bracket were plenty to hold it up. You can see from the picture that the silver screws are those mentioned, and the brass colored ones are the 3½" screws. Again, I drilled additional holes, because I didn't have a stud to back the whole bracket up. I knew there was wood there, because I had just closed up some transfer vents, so that was sufficient to anchor the bottom with the additional holes and the drywall anchors were just added for additional support. THIS IS NOT TYPICAL! I'm just explaining what worked for me and how I was able to secure the brackets to the wall. UPDATE: We have since built a full photography studio on our property. Again, the length is not optimal to match studs on each end. I was able to transfer these out to the studio almost two years ago, and we purchased another set as well. I took some lengths of 1" PVC board and secured those to studs for the top and bottom holes, then a vertical piece to screw these brackets into. The PVC boards are laid out like an "H" lying on its side, with these brackets screwed into that vertical piece. The product itself is sturdy and plenty sufficient for its intended purpose. Great backdrop holder for a smaller budget.

Super simple to install and easy to use
This was the perfect solution for my studio to be able to have a photo backdrop in use and I didn’t have to figure out where else to store it! Hangs right from the ceiling pulls down when I need it rolls up when I don’t.

Great purchase, for the price
Let me start off this review by reflecting on what my mother use to tell me, “you will usually get what you pay for”. First, I always read the poor reviews and then go back and read the good reviews. This help me to give weight to the poor reviews as to their accuracy. For all those complaining that the chain is plastic, I must say this, this is a $70 system and not a $600 or $1,000 high end commercial system. Really, what did you expect. Once mounted to my studios wall, my system is holding 3 107” x 24’ rolls of paper and 1 107” x 24’ vinyl roll. Consideration for what you are mounting, and its weight is vital to your mounting options. First let’s start with the mounting. Unless you have concrete walls, or you are going to mount this to a concrete floor, through away the mounting hardware. The hardware included with the kit is only meant to be used with solid concrete. The mounting brackets are drilled for all sorts of mounting options which I consider to be a big plus. Mounting to just sheetrock was not an option. I don’t care how many sheetrock screws you put in, sheetrock is not very strong and will weaken over time. After measuring I found that my studs were just a little to far apart. After consideration of putting up cross studs between two studs I discovered that if I only used the 4-outside hole on the brackets (they have 4 holes along each side and 2 holes in the middle of the bracket) and set the roller inserts to their max, the spacing was suitable for mounting the brackets directly to the studs. Using 3 ½” wood bolts (3” into the stud, drill piolet holes) I believe that my brackets will hold a couple of hundred pounds each. I did drill out the bracket holes just a little to accommodate a little larger bolt. Sense after I spent days coming up with this solution, I discovered that if you transfer your paper, vinyl to a piece of 2” PVC, you can cut the PVC to any length you want. This would allow you to mount to the studs where ever they are. I discovered this because I had to transfer the vinyl to PVC. Not because of its length but, because its center core was not big enough to accept the roller inserts. Now let’s get to using the system. The plastic chain is functional if you remember that it is plastic and not steal. You can’t go pulling on it like you’re lifting a garage door or speed rolling. I found that I don’t have to use the roller restrictor/locks for the paper rolls. This makes it much easier (less tension on the chain) to roll up the paper rolls. The vinyl is a whole different story as it is much heavier. First off, it’s to heavy for the plastic chains, they will break. You must tighten down the restrictor/lock so tight to keep the weight of the vinyl from unrolling the whole roll you can’t roll it back up. After trying it I ordered the backdrop holder for 42lbs with metal chain. Yes, it’s almost as much as the whole mounting set but, if your going to use 107” vinyl your going to need it. I also put a screw hook into the stud where the chain is. I unroll the vinyl and put the chain on the hook to hold the roll. This allows me to not have to tighten the restrictor/lock down which makes it easier to roll the vinyl back up. If you use a smaller (much smaller) roll you may not need to purchase the heavier holder. Try it with what comes with the kit and if you find it’s not suitable, order the heavier holder. If you’re going to use all vinyl, purchase a different system, this one is not heavy enough. All in all, considering the price and despite some of the issue, I am very satisfied and happy to give this product a 5-star rating.

Love it
Love this backdrop system. Easy to install (once you figure out how high it should be (ie what size backdrops do you use, do they need to touch the floor etc). I put mine too high but will probably install a second one lower (which would not interfere with the higher one). The plastic chains are flimsy but shouldn’t break if you are careful with them. Metal anchors and solid and sturdy. I used wall anchors capable of holding 75lbs each from Home Depot so there is not chance of them ripping from the Sheetrock.

There were no other reviews when I purchased them. These are good.
I bought one before it was available with Prime shipping and it came directly from china. Soon after the first order I ordered another since it was now available on prime. Received the second before the first. Coming back to get a third. These are selling cheaper than similar models which is the main reason I looked at this but wound up buying it because it had 4 screw holes in the hooks compared to two for the other brand. It went up a couple of bucks in price but still cheaper than the other. Quality seems good. Was easy to install and works as expected. It comes with 4 weird anchors I couldn't used so had to get the appropriate hardware for my installation from the big box hardware store. Instructions were very easy to understand and everything went together well.

Receive their specific instruction. Better for the instruction to be visual, same as this item description. Good for them to provide the option to buy the specific metal tube together.

The backdrop roller works well is easy to mount and was delivered in super fast time. the only concern I have is the plastic chain just seams a little light weight. but I have no answer to what you could use in its place, only time will tell if it lasts or not. Over all very pleased with the purchase and Amazon
