So far, so good
Used these for blackberry wine. First ever attempt at wine. We had a bumper crop here in the Pacific NW, more than I could make into jam. Bought these and some gallon jugs, have nearly five gallons percolating away. First fermenting was vigorous and frothy in their steel pots, eventually settled down. Strained and put into glass jugs with an airlock and additional syrup and yeast nutrient and they blubbled happily away for well over a week. siphoned into new jug with more syrup and nutrient and they are still joyfully making micro-bubbles of CO2 and circulating a dark red juice. Never really thought of wine as "alive" but it most definitely is at this stage of production. Smells like wine, none turned to vinegar yet. Tastes like wine and has a bit of bite when sampled during siphoning. So far, so good.

Better yeast to use when making wine.
I like how this yeast actually improved the flavor of my homemade wine. I would recommend it.

Red Star wine yeast
Good price cheaper than some that are advertised to make wine. I have used them and will order more. This product works great.

Great for homemade wine and for small baking projects
The yeast doesn't alter the taste of your wines or baked goods like Baking yeast would. The yeast also has a high alcohol tolerance. So beware of the alcohol strength you might attain if you do the winemaking process right.

Good yeast
I have used this for making several different wines, including apple. Works great for yields up to 12% ABV.
