Great product and they will fabricate custom size orders in about the same time frame as their in-stock products. Very fast shipping. When installing, take care to insure your pilot holes are level. I always put painter's tape over the wood molding so it does not chip. Once your hole spacing is marked and triple checked by holding the bar up to your marks to insure they are centered on the holes, drill a very small starter hole making sure you hit studs (see NOTE below), then drill again with a larger bit and finally with the size bit specified by the manufacturer. This insures the final hole is still centered. Also keep your drill level and straight when drilling since these pilot holes will be over 2" deep. The rest is easy although you will need something like a socket on an extension arm to slip over the round peg on the supplied hardware, to give you leverage to screw them into the pilot holes. NOTE: (1) It is essential you are screwing the hardware into the (hidden) studs surrounding the door. If your first drill bit appears to hit nothing after drilling through the molding and drywall, investigate further. The molding alone will not support this bar for its intended purpose.

Very easy to install, and the new two-piece design is a lot more forgiving than the older design. I have been using this product for since 2013 (back when they used lag bolts, and slotted bars), in two different houses. Just locking your doors, even with high quality double-keyed deadbolts, is not fully secure. Check out the lock picking and lock bumping videos on YouTube if you need proof. I can sleep like a baby with my doors blocked with the Door Bars. I recommend them to anyone willing to listen. Even if you don't live in a high crime area, why tempt fate?
