older model but an awesome little controller for the price and versatility
this unit was released a few years ago as far as I'm aware and there are probably more modern alternatives out there but for the price I paid from the seller I am so happy! My entire game library is now playable through the steam link app on my android tv and samsung phone - it's really opened up my choices of where and when to play my games and it feels good to use (similar to xbox controller design); I love it!

RT and LT buttons doesn't work at all.
I don't recommend buying this product for reasons that the letter buttons are not responsive and especially the RT and LT buttons doesn't work at all.

Promedio.

The software is fixed, and it's now exactly what I want.
After trying every cheap (<$30) wireless controller, this was the only one that was usable for me. The buttons are different than on most controllers - they have a small actuation force and distance, with a quiet and distinct click. I like it, personally. It had annoying connection problems at first, but they've been fixed, and now it's the ideal controller for me.PROS: Actually works on my computer! - Pretty ergonomic. (light, buttons press easily) - Good battery life (buy a cheap rechargeable pack though) - decent custimization options in the software (independant sensitivities and deadzone settings for each thumbstick, and very intuitive software for setting them up.)Cons: - sometimes (I guess because a thumbstick is slightly offset) it fails to go to sleep and drains the battery.

It's a great controller with a couple nagging flaws that I can get over for now.The face buttons are great, responsive in every way and the analog sticks have an excellent resistance to them. The nagging flaws are:1. The phone mount is shallow and doesn't allow for a larger phone + case to fit. Having a Pixel XL I had to clip it on a bit to the left since the volume keys sit nearly in the middle. But that's more of a phone design issue.2. *Only* the face buttons are mechanical. Meaning the ABXY buttons are the only responsive buttons on the entire controller. This seems like a well thought out design flaw on purpose. Because who wants responsive shoulder or d-pad buttons? On top of that the d-pad rattles. Not too big a deal but it makes it feel like it was cheaply made.Overall it feels great in the hands and only required minimal set up.

but that's better than no mechanical buttons (my PC keyboard will always ...
So far I'm liking the product. I come from a FPS gaming world on PC with a Razer mouse so consoles/controllers have never been my thing. However, I bought this for a particular Android racing game I'm currently playing, and perhaps others. I understand only ABXY buttons are mechanical, but that's better than no mechanical buttons (my PC keyboard will always be fully mechanical). Wow are they a treat to push! I actually love how they have short travel distance...who wouldn't, I don't know as it means quicker reaction times. The D-Pad is okay I feel I'd prefer something like the one on Stratus XL more, however, I'm using the analog stick so this isn't a big deal. It does rattle a little bit if I'm using the D-Pad for some reason, but what D-Pad doesn't really, heh. The shoulder buttons feel quite nice I think and have a short travel distance like the ABXY buttons. I'm surprised those aren't mechanical, they almost feel like it. The trigger buttons have a lot of travel but they register long before being fully depressed, so that's nice. The resistance of the analog sticks is high, however, I think I'd prefer this over a controller without much resistance personally. I read a few reviews mentioning how it felt cheap and light but then another review talked about it's superior build quality over the Stratus XL (which worries me about the Stratus because it's discounted now on Amazon and I was thinking of grabbing that too). I know where they are coming from but perhaps they incorporated the fact that if you have a phone attached to this thing plus the two AA batteries installed, it's darn heavy. That definitely takes getting used to and after I can feel hands/wrists got a work out. The controller feels hollow but strong on the outside, if that makes sense. I think the build quality is fine and I think Razer knows what they are doing to an extent because they make XBOX controllers as well (not to mention mice). It would have been nice to be able to adjust the phone holder tilt. Right away I wanted to tilt it back more, but I'm quite used to it now so that's fine. The clip is tricky to get on and off so I just leave it on for now even when I'm using the wired mode and don't have my phone attached to the controller. Which btw, having a wired option was basically a requirement for me. I don't know how long it's been out but the Stratus XL has a firmware update that allows you to use wired mode now, so that's intriguing. The one gripe I have so far is only the left analog stick is squeaking a tad when I'm moving up/down but not left/right. Not a huge issue as the racing game I primarily play is all left/right movement. However, I'm wondering if it's normal or not. Depending on how this pans out I may go for an exchange. Frankly, this is what got prompted the deduction of one star. Another bonus of Razer (and probably Steelseries) over a company like Moga or Gamesir, is one can actually get support when you need it. You can call and talk to a real person (amazing) and that speaks volumes.Overall I'm pleased with the purchase at the current price. I don't think any controller such as these for Android should be $80, let alone $60. The $40 mark seems right.

Major Design Flaw
So I got the controller, and I first connected it to my android phone. It connected just fine. Next I tried to bind some inputs. Everything worked fine until I attempted to bind the trigger buttons. The triggers will not bind. The bumpers, when bound, register as trigger buttons, while the triggers don't even register as input at all. I tried several different programs to the same effect. I tried an iPad next, same exact results. Next I tried to connect via bluetooth to my laptop, but that would not work, so I connected via the included USB cable (which is an excellent MicroUSB-USB cord by the way, possibly the best part of the purchase). Interestingly, despite Razer saying the controller can be used as a PC gamepad, Synapse does not detect the controller. I tried mapping inputs and what do you know, the triggers don't register at all, while the bumpers register as trigger inputs. So why, Razer, would you include bumpers when they DON'T DO ANYTHING? The rest of the controller is pretty good, but the fact that the triggers don't work at all is a huge let-down.On the positive side, the controller still works great for most emulators and other gamepad-based android and iOS apps. So that's cool. Just don't expect to be able to map anything to those triggers.
