It not only stopped my 8 year old daughter from biting her nails, it helped strengthen them as well.My daughter picked up the nasty habit of biting her nails after we weaned her off the pacifier and sometime during pre-school. It works but you have to use it consistently. This is my second time purchasing this product. We stopped using the first bottle after my daughter stopped sucking her finger. She started sucking her finger again a year later. The liquid in the original bottle became hard and dry because it wasn't closed properly. The new bottle works like a charm and my daughter hasn't sucked her finger since. We still apply it every other day to ensure she truly breaks the habit.

Our son has been an avid thumbsucker for 3 years. This is the 1st product we tried, and so far our son hasn't sucked his thumb for 2 days!! He's tried, but has quickly been turned away from the very bitter taste. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because the transfer of bitterness to finger foods and the gagging when he attempts to suck his thumb.

I got this for my daughter who was 7 at the time, we used it a whole weekend and it broke the cycle of her sucking her thumb. She had started to have an over bite when we went to the dentist, they are the one that recommended the product. It’s a little expensive but it’s so worth it!

I used this bitter nail polish to successfully break my finger-centric dermatophagia habit of 15 years.I applied it every day for a month (no exceptions) to my fingers. It made food I touched taste horrible, but this better served for breaking my habit of biting my fingers, as I learned to hate this stuff quickly.For people with a similar problem to myself, please consider giving this stuff a try. The key is to be consistent in your application of the polish.

Strong smell and it’s sticky

I think we used it twice and our daughter has not chewed her nails at all. she didn't believe me that its not poisonous so i put a tiny dab on a piece of paper and licked it. Super bitter taste that lingers for several hours. Completely disgusting but it works wonderfully.

This is the only product that I found that works. Used for both my son who bites his nails till they bleed and my daughter who sucks her thumb.
