These are the wireless headphones to beat.
When I first heard about the THX Drop Panda, I was skeptical at all the hype surrounding the device. No noise canceling, no ambient sound, no extra bells or whistles? What were they thinking? Fast-forward about a year and I finally pulled the trigger when it "dropped" to lower price. I'm glad I did. These are by far the overall best headphones I have, and I have a few.The Drop Panda are made of a hard plastic so they are light and durable. The ear cups do a good job of completely covering your ears, so sound leaks are minimal. That goes both ways as outside noise is also kept to a minimum. It doesn't have active noise canceling but it doesna great job of keep unwanted noise at bay. They are comfortable enough that wear fatigue is an issue for me.As for the audio, what it comes down to is the lack of any pre-installed equalizer. You are free to adjust the headphones as you see fit without having to fight with the out of box pre-adjusted sound signature. There is an app that scans how you hear and adjust the sound to your unique style. It then uploads your personal sound to the headphones for use on any audio device. It's amazing. Whether it be a tablet, a phone, a stereo system, the headphones will sound the same across the board. No need to adjust it per device. The $400+ price point is a bit high in my opinion but if you can find them for $300 or less, they are wll worth it

Drop+THX-Panda headphones *UPDATE
I used to be a club DJ, Remix producer, etc... and have about 5 high end headphones and head-amps, power amps, 4-way speaker systems, etc ... so I'm familiar with what sounds right for me. I've been reading, as well as viewing MANY reviews on headphones and amps. I had made the mistake of purchasing a tube DAC from Ukraine... based partly on a review of a known yt'er (it was for the amp, not their DAC- to be fair). I assumed that a DAC from them would be more logical, since it was needed (and also included an amp). The difficult part now is to build a system around that.Over about a year later, I've yet to audition the DAC, or find the right amp to enhance my signal.I've read many reviews here, and viewed several on YT about these headphones.I want to be Crystal clear here:If you can, try them in a store, and stop trying to search for the "perfect" product by reading reviews for hours on end.People embellish and exaggerate.I opened the package and automatically set them to charge- just in case- with my own cable, as a type C to type C was included but I use a type A charging hub. After 2 hours, I turned them on by pressing and holding the joystick in for 10 seconds- which first powered them on, then paired to my network, (Bluetooth) all with a very retro gaming sound. I'm not sure how the battery life is yet. These headphones sound good, can be modified with the app (once/ if you decide to), which I "may" do eventually, just to boost the sub bass- if I prefer.A pilot pad for them can be purchased separately- if you need more padding. I purchased one in anticipation for a very uncomfortable headset (that never happened for me). They're as comfortable as my Sony XM 3's. I also added low end and tweaked the treble to my liking on my Sony's and EVERYTHING sounds great, regardless how many seem to put their sound down.SONY XM3 *VERY forgiving of source quality.Once I get around to tweaking sound through the app for the Panda's, I'll try to figure out which is best for me. Right now (even though the bass needs more accentuation) the Panda's edge it out.I listen to everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING.I tried them out listening to a few live concerts on YT:Fleetwood Mac, RHCP, Rush, Led Zeppelin, etc... approved!I never felt the need to go over 75%, all instruments were present and clearly separate. I'd love to have the "subwoofer effect" included, but I may be able to balance it out with the app.I'm not really sure how the THX amps are affecting the sound but I don't care. All good.Panda's *LESS forgiving of source qualityI'm not sure how good the noise canceling is- sorry.Since I did already purchase a pilot pad for the headset, I look forward to trying it ... but I don't feel the need to yet.I just received a separate order for the Soundcore Life Q35 headphones, expecting that I would return the Panda's- I won't be doing that. I will be checking out the Q35's for future use. Thanks to all who have read this.8/30/ UPDATE:After a few weeks of use (on and off) I put them to charge. About 8 hours later, I tried to turn them on- nothing. I placed them back to keep charging. I returned- nothing.I completed all of their troubleshooting steps, nothing.I wanted to see if I could view the battery life of them as I was connected with their app, I couldn't complete the setup for that- nothing. This is about 3 months after purchase, so no Amazon warranty left. I was informed that Drop has their warranty coverage.I could have done it through Amazon (*as a courtesy), but I would have to pay a hefty restocking fee. I chose to try with Drop. After some jumping through hoops, I was told to ship back and return for a refund (NOT a replacement - they "no longer have inventory "). Shipping fees are the obligation of the customer.I'm not sure how much yet, or if I'll receive a full refund-I'll find out.Sound quality of these headphones was very good. They did overheat my ears.Issues with trying the app-Issues with charging/ holding a charge-Customer service could have been better, but I kinda understand their position-I always had a funny feeling about doing any business with Drop, but I figured I'd have more luck ordering a Drop product FROM Amazon. Unfortunately, my issues happened outside of the return window.Press your luck, if so inclined!**update 8/2022Drop reimbursed my full purchase price by check, and return shipping fees in the form of credit to be applied to future orders on their site (close to $30!). I'm not sure if I'll EVER trust them again.I'd love to try an updated version of this headphones, if ever available (I don't see it happening tho, imho... just saying).*** final update...I miss the sound of these. Most uncomfortable headband
Well, I ordered them since they are advertised to support THX and LDAC. THX is primarily used for movies, so for these to be connected to a home theater you need a bluetooth transmitter that supports LDAC. Of course, you could use aptX (HD), but what‘s the point not to use LDAC which delivers the highest quality audio? Unfortunately, these headphones do not connect to the only available LDAC transmitter on the market from FIIO. (I did not test LDAC capable music players). I was able to use another transmitter that supports aptX HD and that worked. With that the sound was just ok. I like the sound of the Sony XM4 clearly better, plus they have ANC and they are cheaper. The real deal breaker for me, however, is the headband. The padding is completely useless which makes them for me the most uncomfortable headphones I ever had on my had. I could not even wear them for more than 5 - 10 min. They went back on the same day I got them.

Best quality wireless headphones. Hopeful for future updates to make it perfect
It is the best sounding wireless headphones. Because of that alone I will keep them, and I’m looking forward to the app/firmware updates coming later this month. The one thing I find annoying is the loud startup and power off sound. As well as a few seconds after I stop playing a sound there’s a loud pop. Supposedly with the upcoming update we should be able to adjust how soon this pop happens, which happens when something in the headphone turns off when nothing is playing. Also even though it doesn’t have active noise cancelling I find the headphones very good at blocking outside sounds just by the fit around the ear.

Bluetooth sounding better than I’d ever expected!
Been using these for watching TV on my LG CX OLED, as well as listening to music and podcasts on my iPhone. The sound quality is fantastic, and I haven’t had any dropouts while watching movies! I honestly can’t tell a difference between wired headphones to my TV and these, nor can I tell a noticeable difference between these (closed back) and my previous headphones I used with my TV (open backed). These headphones are slightly heavy (probably due to the battery, amp, etc.) but nothing bad (I don’t have any major comfort complaints after a 3 hour movie). These come with a USB C charging cable (no charging brick) and 3.5mm cable for listening wired (haven’t tried this yet). Finally, the battery life seems to live up to the promise of 30 hours from my experience. I’m very impressed with that!
