Great sous vide wand! Best boneless skinless chicken breasts EVER!
I’ve had this unit for almost a year. I bought it based on a recommendation from America’s Test Kitchen for a Best Buy sous vide wand. It’s worked GREAT! I’m cooking healthier meals at home. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts have been an easy source of protein. Sous vide allows me to cook them at a steady lower temperature so they stay tender, but still kill off any ickiness & parasites. No more rubber chicken! Also steaks cook to the perfect temperature. In this picture I’m cooking a barbecue pork butt for 20 hours. Once it gets to my set temp of 165 F, the counter for 20 hours & 15 minutes will start counting down. The controls are easy to understand and read. The wand itself is a great price. I love that it doesn’t need to connect to my phone via Bluetooth. It’s a simpler machine so fewer parts of the process can go awry. I owned a vacuum sealer before buying this wand. So I never used the manual vacuum & included vacuum bags. So I can’t speak to those. But the wand itself is wonderful! (I also HIGHLY suggest the America’s Test Kitchen cookbook “Sous Vide for Everyone.” Great tips & recipes!)

Highly Recommended
Sous Vide is a unique cooking method and general cooking knowledge does NOT qualify one to jump in and be successful in this process. Yedi gives you the information you need to use the product as well as many receipts to start out and not end up with a disaster. The Yedi is a good product and great value for the price.

Easy Sous Vide to use at home
I'm new to the whole Sous Vide arrangement, but I tried it out yesterday, and I think it worked well. I need to experiment with cooking this way, but it was a good starter. The device did everything it was supposed to do, and it was easy to use.

Made me a sous vide convert...
There are some valid criticisms that I'll get to, but I'm pretty happy with my Yedi sous vide. I purchased this (late November 2025) because it was ATK's "best buy" choice, and I wanted to try sous vide. I've been using it continuously since then (3 months). It has performed very well and has made me a confirmed sous vide convert. Most of my cooks have been under 150 degrees F and for durations of 2 hours or less. My most extreme cooks have been 185 degrees/2 Hours and 135 degrees for 8 hours. It has performed flawlessly. Delicious, tender, and juicy chicken breasts and yummy salmon filets prepared for one are now my forte. I have found that temperature regulation is very good. I've done several checks against my kitchen thermometer and haven't experienced any concerning variations. It reaches cooking temperature quickly and does a quick recovery after adding cold food to the bath. The controls are reasonably intuitive and self-contained -- no need for phone app silliness. As for valid criticisms, the clamp position cannot be adjusted. You will need to find a straight sided and fairly deep (8" minimum) container. It doesn't work with my deepest dutch oven so, I purchased a Rubbermaid 8-quart container and that works perfectly. The accessory kit that comes with the unit contains cheap zipper bags, a manual vacuum pump and some clamps. I basically threw this into the bottom of an unused kitchen drawer. I suppose these might work ok, but it doesn't look very promising to me. I think that you'll want to have a vacuum sealer or name-brand freezer bags when you prepare food for cooking. Finally, this unit is under $80 and I think, at this price, I can be flexible on "build quality". Even though the only problem I've experienced so far is that the rubber grippy portion of the clamp came off once, it doesn't give me that "built like a tank" feeling. So, I've placed trust in the fact that I think the manufacturer won't want to put their ATK review at risk by bad product quality or support. In summary, I love my Yedi sous vide, and I'd probably buy it again. I think it is the perfect beginner cooker.

Great cooking tool!
Works exactly as expected. Very easy to use, and very quiet. Water temperature is very accurate. Most tender boneless, skinless chicken breasts I have ever had! Great for reheating leftovers, as well!

Great product!
Though I wish I could’ve bought the model without all of the accessories/bags since I’m using this to make yogurt—I still love this model SO much. It’s SO quiet, easy to set up, and very accurate temperature control. I bought because it was highly recommended by Americas Test kitchen. My only qualm is that the finishing beep is super quiet and I never hear it so I end up setting a separate timer.

Works very well
Have used the Yedi Sous Vide several time. The cooking wand clipped onto the side of the pot and functioned without any problems. It cooked the steaks to perfection. We finished the steaks off by browning using a torch. My first try was on two beef shoulder steaks . Beef shoulders steaks are often tough and dry so this was a challenging test for the Yedi. It came out very tasty and juicy. The next evening I finished off the same package of steaks and cooked the remaining two steaks. The result was super delicious , more tender and juicy than the first try. I am not sure what I did differently to obtained such a superb result. I think on the second try , the temperature was a smidge lower and I left the package in the water longer while putting the rest of the meal together. The vacuum gadget also worked well. I heated the water in the cooking pot to below simmer temperature before activating the Yedi. This step probably helped the Yedi's efficiency. The only complaint is that the manual could and should have been printed better. The instructions need more details. The print is in light teeny gray letters. Why? It demands unnecessary effort to read it. Everything functioned well. Cooking is nice and clean. I look forward to experimenting on other recipes. It also takes the stress off cooking for guests. 5 stars for the Yedi Kit.
