Yes, tiles and granite slabs drop the temp-we have 3 and usually keep the temp between 70-75. Sometimes if I have to deal with a power outage for a few hours I will put the stones and the granite slabs in the freezer. Keeps it chilly all day. This granite slab in particular holds a freeze well.

How heavy is this? i want to use it for a 2nd level c&c cage, but i’m not sure if it’d be too heavy for it to support?

It definitely has some weight to it. I was actually surprised by the weight when I received ours. I’m not sure what the weight capacity is for the 2nd level of the cage but this might exceed it

Do i put in the freezer? Or does it automatically get cold when room is cool?

It automatically gets cold. It is always below room temperature unless the room is cold.

The temp in my room is about 82 degrees. Can this product keep my chinchillas cold enough?

- chiller won’t be enough to keep a chinchilla cool. 82 degree is way Too hot for chinchillas. I have a window AC unit installed for my Chinchilla’s and I keep the room at about 65-70degree.
