I have always hated the old fashion wine openers, getting the foil off and getting them to work is just more effort than I want to put in to it. I used it for the first time this weekend, I have not used the foil trimmer yet, and it works great. Probably the easiest opener I have ever used. Took no effort on my part. My friend, who has really bad arthritis, tried and loved it because it cause no pain in her hand. I love that an extra screw is provided because I am sure after time this one will get dull. I would purchase this again and recommend it to friends.

I ordered this when my Metrokane single lever wine opener was broken by an inebriated guest at a party. While it was perfectly operable and opened bottles well it just didn't have the solid feel that I had with the old Metrokane. Additionally I had constant issues with it sending the screw down the side of the cork which resulted in a broken and not pulled cork. Perhaps I was using it incorrectly but this should be intuitive. The seller did everything right so I don't want people to think that they did anything wrong but I was somewhat disappointed in the product.

This item consisted of four pieces: 1. A very expensive box and insert. 2. The wine bottle opener. 3. A foil cutter. 4. A spare corkscrew. Here's what happened: the foil cutter broke as I tried to use it on the very first bottle of wine. It's in the trash now. The box was adequate. Use instructions, while a nice idea, are glued to the box lid. This means one must rip the box apart to file the instructions. The opener worked fine. Haven't used the spare screw yet. Really a disappointment.

I had an older "rabbit" style opener, was heavy and metal, one of the few plastic parts broke in it leaving it useless. This one has more plastic so time will tell on longevity, but the action is smooth, fast, and easy!

Purchased 5 months ago. It worked for a while, but the transverse pin linking the lever to the main part of the instrument broke and now it is useless. This is a quality problem, not a consequence of misuse. Not happy.1/7/17 Originally I gave a one-star review for the reason discussed above, but today I received a replacement product at no cost, shipped virtually overnight. With this kind of service, and with this willingness to stand behind their product, I am most willing to give the Opulent Wine Opener and its company a second chance.

Purchased this to replace the Original Rabbit that I've had for 16 years. That opener was awesome and I really wanted another just like it. Unfortunately I couldn't find one. Seeing the reviews I thought would be a close second. Whereas, it does pull a cork with extreme ease I am concerned about it's durability. I am not expecting this opener will have the fortitude of it's all metal predecessor since the body of the wine opener is made of plastic. The chrome plating lead me to think it was metal...but no. The cutter is also chromed. plastic

Unfortunately, a corkscrew we had for many years and really liked broke in a very stubborn cork. Had to get a new one. Fortunate turn of events after all: the Opulent wine opener is the best I've ever used in many decades of pulling corks. Easy to use. Love the feature for removing the cork from the screw. Foil cutter very effective and efficient. And that stubborn cork: came out like it was greased.
