Good scribe, strong magnet
I had this scribe for years then I lost it and bought another one. The bit wasn't held tightly but I took off the cone that holds it and sanded off a mm on the back and then it clamped tighter

And buying one with a magnet on the end was a stroke of genius on my part. I figured that would be useful for picking up small nuts or washers. It is, but what's much better about it is I can "hang" it from metal in my work area. Lights, shelves, brackets, whatever, I "stick" it to a handy metal surface and it's right at my fingertips. THAT was smart on my part. The tip is adjustable in & out, so that's a bonus. It looks nice, is reasonably well made, and functional enough. If you need a scribe, this one will do.

very nice, low priced scribe
bought it because i lost my last one and i dont think i'll be very happy losing this one. larger than my last one with a surprisingly powerful magnet on the rear of it. yes you have to twist the cap on fairly tight in order for it to not slip out at all, but do you really need to tighten it that much? also, for the person who said what do you need the clip for other than poking holes in your shirt, reverse the scribe point in the thing and you wont poke holes in anything and it holds it in very nicely. though i do wish the knurling was a little more aggressive, its plenty for normal use. my only problem is "made in china", while i do accept its a low priced scribe, my general tools thread pitch gauges were made in the u.s., as was one of my old automatic center punches made by general. guess they all have to go west sometime for the basic products.(leave us to make the harder stuff with higher quality)

Just a scribe, NOT SPRING LOADED!
The product description is vague about this, and the picture kinda looks like it MIGHT be spring loaded, but it's not. To use this as a punch you need to hit it with a hammer. That might be fine for some applications, but I expected spring-loaded, so 4 stars instead of 5 due to vague product description.
