The Hateful 8 is set 6 or 8 or 12 years after the Civil War in wintery Wyoming, and a blizzard is coming. Bounty Hunter John Ruth is trying to get his bounty, Ms. Daisy Domergue (Dah-mer-goo), to the town of Red Rock where she’s scheduled to be brought to justice. Along the way he and his wagon driver Olie pick up two strangers; another bounty hunter and former union soldier, Major Marquis Warren, and a former southern renegade who claims to be the new mayor of Red Rock, Chris Mannix. The impending storm has forced them to stop at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are not greeted by the proprietor but by four strangers. As the storm takes over the mountainside cabin our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all.

A Brutal, Bloody, Gory, and Gritty Cowboy Movie!
Running time (2 hr. and 47 minutes), Hi-Def Picture, 5.1 DTS Sound, Widescreen picture. Crisp and beautiful cinematography. This movie hands down was a great movie! If you like cowboy movies, this is your movie. I loved every square inch of this movie. It’s well-crafted and written. This movie has beautiful and stunning cinematography, and amazingly accurate period satire, wardrobes and props. Hollywood elites, (A-list) actors (Samul L. Jackson and Kurt Russell) carried this movie very well, and demonstrated some true grit hardcore acting which was absolutely amazing. This movie is true to the period of the 1870s cowboy brutality and racism. Some reviews on this site lack education and facts. The realism and brutality in this movie are accurate to those times. They actually committed heinous atrocities back in those times, and treated women far worse than what was portrayed in the movie. The 1870s was NOT the (soft hug a tree world) we live in today, so get over it! This movie takes place after the Civil War, approximately during the (1870s). The premise of this movie is (two) Bounty Hunters trying to get their bounty to a town; Red Rock. They stop at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover to wait out a storm, when all hell breaks loose during their visit. So this movie is damn good and that’s a fact jack! This movie is not dry or boring and will hold your every attention throughout all (2 hours and 47 minutes) of detail. This movie is so well written that it actually seemed to go by a lot faster; felt more like a (2) hour movie. In terms of entertainment, this movie is a great value. It’s the kind of movie you can curl up with popcorn and just let it draw you right in! You will get your monies worth out of this movie. This movie is NOT a family movie, meaning it’s NOT for kids at all! However, its good solid adult entertainment. This movie is a true classic in the style of “Django”. I love all of (Quentin Tarantino’s) movies. The guy is absolutely brilliant! Recommend purchase on Blu-ray.The Facts:1. The movie is: 2 hrs. 47 minutes long.2. Stunning Cinematography.3. A-List acting.4. Some humor/ brutal language.5. Lots of gore.6. Hardcore violence and blood.7. Set back in the 1870s.8. True to the times of the 1870s hardcore racism.9. The movie is very entertaining.10. There are NO (dry or boring areas) in this movie.Thank you!

Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" will have you eager for his next movie.
I had no idea what to expect from this movie in starting to watch it. It is a very long, involved story set in post-Civil War Wyoming. The basic sert-up for a movie more about character than plot is this:Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) is an outlaw responsible for one or more deaths. A bounty hunter named John Ruth (played by a grizzled Kurt Russell) is escorting her via stagecoach to Red Rock to stand trial and be hung. Weather is changing for the worse and a blizzard is descending.. Along the trail, they come across a black bounty hunter played by Samuel L. Jackson, who has killed his fair share of black-hating Confederate soldiers. His bounties are dead. Further along the trail, they encounter the new sheriff of Red Rock, Chris Mannix, played by Walton Goggins. The weather gets worse. They have to sit out the blizzard at a rest stop for stagecoaches and travelers called "Minnie's Haberdashery".Once inside, you have the makings of a grand stage play with all the characters confined to one set.Characters inside Minnie's are played by Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Demian Bechir, Tim Roth and Channing Tatum. Minnie is nowhere to be seen. Jackon's character has been to Minnie's a number of times and knows that a famous sign on the wall has been removed. The sign might have racist overtones, but Jackson realizes the sign's absence means that the new sheriff and bounty hunters have walked into a lethal trap to free Daisy from the hangman's noose.Flashbacks show what happened at Minnie's before the stagecoach arrived and what happened to Bruce Dern's character's son. That flashback features full frontal nudity. As Daisy's gang plots to free her, the movie gets gorier and more violent. The dialogue is crisp and well thought-out by Quentin Tarantino. The musical score won an Academy award.Leigh's facial expressions throughout the movie are all over the place and are amazing to behold. The dramatic set-up of the movie is almost like a classic detective movie where the detective has to piece the puzzle together to solve the mysteryTake the time to sit down, watch and enjoy "The Hateful Eight". You will find yourself looking torward to the next Tarantino movie
