From 2006 to 2012, the Mac Pro from Apple stuck with the same aluminum case, first made popular by the power Mac G5. Now, the Mac Pro returns with a completely redesigned look.

Buy buy buy.
When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised. The product is refurbished from Apple. Not sure if it's dropshipped from them but it comes in a certified refurbished sealed box and looks and even smells new. I can't tell the device was ever used at all. The ram inside was new although I immedielty upgraded it to 32gb. No issues with powering on or getting everything set up.The Mac Pro is an awesome machine. Paid $2200 plus tax plus my self-installed ram upgrade for another $175.From the look, lack of fan noise, speed, dependability and overall reliability I would never buy a new desktop at retail cost.Saving $800.00 for a computer that hasn't changed a bit in 3 years is well worth it.Only negative was that it booted on Mavericks which is pretty old. Guessing they just revert to 2013 factory default OS at the time they recondition.

Not great...
Sure I saved some money by getting refurbished, but it's very clearly got it's issues.1. Only 3 of 4 USB ports work.2. Only 1 thunderbolt display port works at a time.3. Often loses connection with wireless devices (mouse, keyboard etc.) or will lag if connected.

Fast little machines
My company bought six of these for our labs. We did buy them from another vendor than the one listed on this page, only because we didn't see this offer on amazon. The machines are installed in a video production lab and so far work fantastically well. We did upgrade the ram for an additional $75 to get up to 16GB. One of the machines we upgraded to 64GB of ram for about $400.
