Q: What is the difference between this and smith's 50264 adjustable manual knife sharpener?

As I have never used a Smith 50264 I can't speak to it's quality or performance. I own and use the KitchenIQ sharpener for many years. It was recommended to me by my son, who is a Chief and runs a restaurant in Virginia Beach, Virginia. When it come to knifes and sharpeners I think he knows his craft. I found this sharpener to keep my knifes as sharp as the day I started to use them. EPG

Q: What's the full range of adjustment? Ex: 22-16 degrees?

hello, the full range of adjustment is 14 to 24 degrees. 14, 16(asian), 18, 20(german/european), 22 and 24 degrees. I guess the intention is, the 14 and 16 degree are Asian knife angles and the 18-24 are European knife angles, but the sharpener is highlighted at the 16 and 20 degree marks. I am very pleased with the way it sharpens my kitchen cutlery. Hope this helps.Bruce

Q: Does this knife sharpener ever wear out?

Of course the stone will wear down over time.anystone will. Had ours for four years but no signs of wearing out. Good value.
