I ordered Amazon Grocery Pure Almond Extract 2 Fl Oz on a whim because I ran out of my usual brand right before a big holiday baking weekend. I was not expecting to be impressed. I was wrong. From the moment I twisted off the cap and caught that first rich sweet aroma, I knew this was the real deal. The scent is bold, warm, and beautifully nutty without being artificial or overpowering. Some almond extracts smell sharp or chemical heavy. This one smells smooth and authentic, like freshly baked almond cookies straight from the oven. It instantly elevated the atmosphere in my kitchen. In terms of flavor, it delivers exactly what you want from a high quality almond extract. Just a small splash transforms recipes. I added half a teaspoon to sugar cookie dough and the difference was dramatic. The flavor became deeper, slightly sweet, and wonderfully aromatic. I also stirred a few drops into pancake batter and vanilla buttercream frosting and it made everything taste more sophisticated and bakery quality. The concentration is perfect. You do not need much, which means the bottle will last a long time. The liquid is clear and pours easily without being watery or weak. I have an entire cabinet full of extracts and flavorings, but this was the first time I'd tried the "Amazon" brand. I'll admit, I thought the Amazon brand was going to be "Inferior". Since all my others are either Name Brands or very good Small Companies, I thought I'd be taking a chance. Amazon, of course like Walmart and the grocery chains, doesn't make their own product lines, they are made by other companies. So, you don't know the quality you're getting. Some things are good & some not so good. This happens to be one of the better products. It is a good price and I would compare it to the major brands. I suspect a major brand manufactures it. Now, that that's over, let me tell you a way this can really help your cookies. When making my Chinese Almond Cookies (or any type of Almond Cookie), the flavor is really enhance by using 1 tsp. of this in the mixture. I also have found in Almond Cookies and Bars, the Best Flavor and Texture comes from using 1/2 finely ground ALMOND FLOUR & 1/2 ALMOND MEAL. All the recipes usually say to use Almond Flour, but try using half & half and see the difference. The blanched Almond Flour has a nice smooth sweet taste, but the coarser Almond Meal adds another depth to the baking and a little bit more of a nutty taste. I'm always experimenting on recipes. My Almond Cookies now taste PERFECT! It's always been traditional to put an almond in the center of your almond cookies. Call me a Rebel, but I put 3 on a cookie, in a fan pattern. Can never have too much almonds. Then, if I'm really feeling adventurous, I'll dip half the cookie in melted sugar free chocolate chips & sprinkle broken almonds over the chocolate. This has a good almond flavor and as good as any for baking

This Pure Almond Extract is fantastic and its price can't be beat. The flavor is rich, natural, and adds the perfect almond aroma to my baked goods. Just a small amount goes a long way, and it blends beautifully into cookies, cakes, and even homemade marzipan. The quality is excellent, and I love that it’s pure without any artificial aftertaste. The 2 fl oz bottle is the perfect size—enough to last a while but still fresh. If you love baking, this is a must-have ingredient! would buy again .

Several of my cookie recipes call for Almond Extract. This is a nice product and doesn't break the bank.
