It doesn't look as sleek as other small scales out there - it looks like an old school lab scale. BUT, you can plug it into an outlet (or use batteries if you want that) and you actually see the numbers on the scale very well even with a large mixing bowl on top. Great bang-to-buck factor when making soaps, cosmetics, etc. at home.
