They are sealed. They work well for us in a square, flat insulated carrier we have.

Q: Dimensions what are the dimensions ?

Dimensions are; 10 inch by 12 1/2 by 1/2.

Q: what degree this froze at?

Normal household freezers are set at 0° which will make the packs provide ample cooling power, because water freezes at 32°.

Q: Will these lay flat in an rtic soft pack 40? (if not, what will)

freezer packs are 13 X 10 , both should lay flat. I think the artic pack is 20 X 19.
